No offense, but I find myself wondering why anybody on this board would be interested in this. I either lost my child-like innocence, unlike the rest of you, or Pee Wee's act is more adult these days.

Which is it?

M Sparks
01-13-2010, 08:08 PM
Tommy, PeeWee's act was always adult.

It says 16 and up on the webpage.

His act outside of the show was PG-13, I remember now. Thanks for the videos, Sparks. He's a good performer, you all will have a good time.

And I miss Phil Hartman.

It was very surprising. Security guard told me they were expecting just under 1500 for the venue that has 2400 (although some of that is exaggerated as there were seats on the floor instead of GA). But yeah, I was standing room and they were offering everyone seated ticket upgrades

Exactly...I would have loved to have gone but tickets are like $70...maybe there are discount tickets now that they're not selling that great...I should check (they also moved the venue from 1500 capacity to 2400 capacity)

My mom and some of her friends went this weekend for someones birthday, they said it wasn't that great of a show. Being as he is from all the adults childhoods not a current thing they were thinking he was going to make it more adult friendly, but apparently it was more of a 4 year old type show. I wasn't there so i couldn't tell you exact details, just was told that it was geared toward the kids not his older fans.

Was it an afternoon show they went to? Because Paul Reubens said something the other night on a talk show about there being a kids' show in the afternoons and an adult one at night.

O man the Pee-wee show was amazing. It looked just like the show, VERY FUNNY,tons of puppets,Miss Yvonne is probably the only other original actor from the original playhouse show(she also is charile's mom on Always Sunny) .Great show, I don't wanna ruin it

I got to the Q&A by the luck of someone giving me their wristband

I got to ask if Rob Zombie was a tech on the playhouse show?

pee-wee said supposedly Rob Zombie was working on the first season as a tech. and how some famous Writer (I didn't hear the name too well) was on his security team.

Also about if he was going to have either of the two movies that he wrote get made?

He said this play is like a test to prove that the people still want Pee-wee and he said he wrote a dark Pee-wee film where Pee-wee goes to jail after he's released he tries have a come back as a singer and fame makes him a monster or a playhouse movie where they go out side of the playhouse in puppetland looking for a missing puppet, and We learn that everybody should of just stay inside the playhouse . The Playhouse movie is way more likely to happen and iPee-wee is asking for about $20 million budget for the movie (this play costed $1.2m,if anyone ever wants their own playhouse).

Also If he ever had Tim Burton override any of his ideas?

He said that he wanted a scene where his head shrinked in Big Adventure and Tim didn't like it so it didn't happen but years later in a different film by Burton he saw that another character(beetlejuice) had his head shrink in Tim's film.

Also Pee-wee talked about how there was going have the Puppet Band in the show but they would of cost $6,000 and have a pot joke every 20 mins naming a different strain of chronic but he realize this might be watched by kids so he cut it.

PS it's going be in New York for two weeks and ran maybe though HBO or something he said(so maybe Conky will said more than tits)

We do tend to take many things for granted. Nothing like a trip back to Ohio to make me stop complaining about being bored in LA.

Part of me wants to go... but it'd only be for Chairry.

I'm not sure where the $100 tickets you guys are seeing are... but on goldstar they have them for $28:

http://www.goldstar.com/events/33151.html

Didn't really look into it, so I'm not sure what the asterisk is all about, but Goldstar is legit.

*edit, turns out they're for upper-balcony. Basically, the worst seats in the house.

I went last Friday - it was really fun and the stage is amazing. I would recommend it to anyone who was a fan of the Playhouse. We originally bought tickets when these shows were at the Fonda so we ended up on the floor (standing) for the Nokia show. We couldn't stay for the Q&A though, ah well.

And yes, the daytime weekend shows are more "kid friendly" but the evening shows are full of innuendo.

i went last week and really enjoyed it. i actually had never seen the television show (i've only seen the movie a hundred times) but i still thought it was good. it was just fun seeing full grown adults getting totally into it, reliving their childhoods. and yes, ivy, he does do the secret word of the day.

Sooooooo..... they have this drawing that no one really knows about on
how to get CHEAP tickets to Pee Wee.... show up about 2 HR before
doors open, to enter this "drawing", for instance the 7:30 show, doors
open at 6:30, drawing is at 5:30 so come "before" 5:30 to enter. They
pick 5 people, the winner gets to buy a pair of seats for $20 each, so
$40 bucks for seats that cost $60 to $125 each.

Check out dates at Club Nokia: http://www.clubnokia.com/

Pick the day you want to go, look CLOSELY at the DOOR TIME and
remember to show up 2 HR before door time to enter, but go a lil
before... there is a bunch of places to eat and get drinks in the
area.

If this isn't your thing, GA standing only tixs are available for
$29.50 and you can see everything really well.

my seats were in the middle of the balcony and while it's cool to sit for this, at times i wish i was on the floor just so i could be closer and see everything better. also there's a part towards the end where you'd really want to be at the back of the pit in the center. ;)
