bring this mother fucker to coachella. his music is beautiful, and as several of us discovered last night his is god damn phenomenal live.

I could totally see him closing out the gobi. I'm thinking of an orb-like slot. but speaking to him after the show, we found out that he has never been asked to play coachella. so here is a thread to show our support.

come on goldenvoice.

For some reason I feel like Moderat would be more likely than Apparat.

I love Apparat, but Moderat would seem to be more likely this go-around.

nope. Moderat's been shelved for now. Modeselektor are doing their own thing again. Apparat just did two US dates so he has a work visa already, and he said he would love to come back.

Oh, I wasn't aware of Moderat's hiatus. You talked to him and he wasn't asked? :(

Please GV! Apparat would be great at Coachella.

how about Apparat AND Modeselektor? not Moderat. just both. that would end my life, considering how Modeselektor GOT THE SHAFT at HHM this year. <33 Apparat though.

Pretty sure they got all their time.... they just weren't allowed to play after 4am due to noise restrictions and HARD didnt want to get fined

you don't hear Thom in that? at least in the vocals.

Wheres the beef?

I was just thinking about this today. How there needs to be an Apparat thread. I will be bumping this thread for the next year (at least).

Can't wait until June.

The vocals sound nothing like Thom Yorke.

It's a decent song. I'm really looking forward to hearing the entire album. I have a feeling it will sound better in an album context.

DJ set in Paris. A lot of you have this already but for those of you that don't - it's very similar to his DJ Kicks. Only 45 minutes and beautiful.

I love everything I have ever heard from bpitch control. Can anyone recommend any artists, other than the well-known ones, from the bpitch roster that are worth checking out?

WTF?

Just to explain: "Apparat Live" is a solo club show with Pfadfinderei visuals. The show at LEV Festival end of April will be the last Apparat solo show for quite a long time.
"Apparat Band" will be a new band and a new set! And don't worry, we'll play in your city. Sooner or later:)

Apparat Band? This just got interesting.

What was Apparat like in Lightning in a Bottle? He was with a band at the Knitting Factory back in 2008. How does this differ?

Apparat played all his hits and all the best Moderat songs. I didn't know he played with a live band in 2008? What was that like?

Yep, it was pretty great. It was a three piece group with Apparat switching off between guitar (or bass... can't remember) and his electronic get-up. The setlist was really heavy on his Walls album with a couple of other older tracks thrown in. I think the show pre-dated his collaboration with Moderat (at least the full album), so we didn't get any of that. One of the other dudes in the band who played guitar or bass did all of the singing. I never saw one of his solo shows, so I can't compare the two unfortunately.

I've listened to a set of the band performing mostly Walls tracks and I've watched a lot of videos of them as well and it's completely different from what he did at LiB. His LiB set was very similar to his Droga do Mekki or DJB Livecast set - just like Ryan said - lots of his tracks, Moderat, Ellen Allien, etc mixed flawlessly. Most of his sets I've downloaded are like that except for the recent Paris recording and his DJ Kicks.

shakermaker113
04-11-2011, 10:12 PM
his sets last year contained a mix of stuff off walls, his other two albums, moderat stuff, stuff he did with ellen allien, and lots I still don't recognize. and they were fucking awesome.
