Sleepingrock

On the write up dealio, it said 18+ or with a legal guardian for the camping.... What kind of stuff do we need to prove they are our guardian...and what exactly does a "guardian" require to be a guardian

You're still 16? Grow up. I'll be your guardian if you buy my camping ticket.

I know its not coachella, but i doubt there's really a big difference between the two in this case, but this is taken from the Shabhala site when they discussed what a "legal guardian" means in relation to the festival

Required of parents bringing their children:

-Birth certificate with parent's names and child's name on it (or a copy of this document).
-Photo ID or 2 pieces of ID for the child/children.
-Your photo ID.
-You must be with your child/children at all times.

Required of chaperones to children age 18 and younger:

-Photo ID or 2 pieces of ID for the child/children.
-Your photo ID.
-A copy of Shambhala's form letter for attendees 18 and under who are attending with someone other than a parent, signed by a Notary Public.
-A photocopy of the notarized letter that Shambhala may keep for its records.
-You must be with the child you are chaperoning at all times. If a child is found without a chaperon, the chaperon and child will be asked to leave the property.

take with a grain of salt

I said once and I'll say it again...............leave your spawns at home. What kind of a world is it? where a man can't get his high on, without some punk-ass kid all up in my buisness. Then again, I do like blowing weed smoke in your little kids' faces. Also, be ware of the heroin needles. Oh, and that's not powdered sugar. FUCK YOU and YOUR FUCKIN BRATS!!!

I'm 17... and anyways, the festivals and raves I've gone to, aside from coachella, little children add another dimension to the festival.... Its a wonderful place to raise your kids, unless they are miley cyrus loving shits...

I'm gonna predict that with ins and outs we will be seeing more children this year.

Izzy will be there, so be sure to say hi.

The FAQ states that campers must be 18 or older and present a valid ID. It doesn't say anthing about minors with legal guardians.

^ It isn't updated yet.... read the link on the very front page.... it says it in the camping section

Huh. I haven't found that, Sleepingrock. Here's what it says in the 2010 camping page (the page that talks about the new 10' x 30' camping spots):

"* All campers MUST be 18 years of age or older & have a valid I.D or be accompanied by legal guardian. .. Sorry NO exceptions."

I'm not saying it doesn't say something else somewhere else, though; I just don't see it.

I bolded the exact part in your own quote about underage campers. Maybe you think it means something that it doesn't, or think it doesn't mean something that it does, but this whole thread exists because of that phrase, which definitely claims minors can camp if they have a guardian.

ironically, billy & i saw miley cyrus and her father at the Outdoor theater last year.. so, yeah, let's not allow kids at Coachella, much less the campground..

I guess I might quiz the people that are so down on kidlets being able to camp and go to Coachella. What if they said, "since we sell alcohol, no one under 21 will be able to go to coachella or camp" .... just wondering. cr****

i would be perfectly fine with 21 & over only in campground if they let us bring alcohol in..

now that everybody i know is over 21, of course..

This is a total guess but I bet a good third or more of the people that go to Coachella are under 21. cr****

pretty sure Stagecoach has a "Quiet Family Zone" or something in the camping area removed from the hard partying RV'ers. Seems like Stagecoach is the small(er) scale incubator and testing ground for many ideas that may or may not end up being policy at Coachella.

LOL Once I step on the Coachella grounds, I lose all concept of age. I'm like a little kid on Thursday and Friday, and a juvenile delinquent on Saturday and Sunday. Now, by Monday morning? I may need someone to push start me on my crawl back home down the street, but that's about it...LOL
