I tried a trial of Tunebit and the files didn't work once I transferred them to a different computer. I gave up after that because what I was doing wasn't very important. How important is this, Tom?

I don't know how to rate its importance. It is important to me. I am going to convert the files one way or another and the only way I really know how to is burning to CD and re-importing which of course is a massive pain in the ass.

Dont' convert if you can help it - converting from one lossy format to another is like listening to a photocopy of a photocopy.

That said, I actually wrote a program that does exactly this. Converts tags as well. Can provide if needed.

I've used it on my DRM files if I remember correctly. They have codecs for just about everything.

I think that the programs you download make a virtual CD and it burns the songs to it and then rips them in an Mp3 format. I downloaded one a while ago that worked swell but I have a mac so it was much harder to find and would not work on a PC.
