The House of Love. They were just a year or two early for the big Britpop explosion and never really sold a lot of records. Some very, very good stuff though overall. 'Babe Rainbow' is always worth a listen.

New Fast Automatic Daffodils aka New FADs I saw exactly 1 video of theirs on the tv years ago and found their cds in the bargain bin. Some wonderful, moody, guitar rock.

A House. 'The Greatest Since 1985' was a logo on their tee-shirts and they were great. Guitar led with some wonderfully cynical lyrics to go with it. Desperately undervalued.

The Pale. Many wrote them off as a novelty due to the haircuts and the ukelele but they were much better live than on record. I've never seen women go as nuts over a bald guy like they did for the lead singer.

Therapy?. Still going, still great.

And finally, Flowered Up. I was more a fan of the single than anything else but it still sounds great now. The singer, Liam Maher, passed away last Oct at age 41.

Metal Molly

I fucking love these guys- When I stumbled upon them a few years ago it was like I was 12 all over again listening to new music over the radio. Which makes sense because they sound like the presidents of the united states, or the eels, or...insert 90's radio band because this song/album was released in 1995. Since it was new to me I bought the album and its still fun to listen too every now and again.

Hey, I've honestly never heard of any of those bands. I'm gonna listen.

I'm truly surprised (especially House Of Love - they've even done an ATP Dont Look Back). You'll probably love the early Therapy stuff. Quite Big Black influenced (they even covered Kerosene).

A couple from me.

Drop Nineteens - Proof that the USA did contribute to shoegaze.

Radial Spangle - Produced 2 of my favourite albums ever.

I had a record by The Pale that was very enjoyable. Good straightforward indie powerpop.

Also, MarkO, I much prefer the earlier House Of Love output.

I thought they were still around.

I think CKY actually broke up last year. "96 Quite Bitter Beings" was one of my favorite songs when I was like 15-16. That was a nice blast from the past.

Everyone remembers that song. My friends ska band (who has since broken up) always used to cover that song and everyone would go crazy. It was hilarious.

This was Icelands answer to The Beastie Boys. It only held up for one summer in 2002. And yeah I saw them on Warped Tour a couple times. And the total rip off to Snatch in the video is funny.
