So I'm calling upon you fine folks to lend me a hand and please try to torrent any of the following items and upload them to a site like megaupload or something similar. Technically those sites are blocked too, but I think I might be able to get around those blocks by using a proxy site if I could just get a direct download link. I'm doing alright. Looks like I have to quit smoking cigarettes permanently. CT scans came back fine, ultrasounds of my other limbs found no other blood clots, blood work says that I have no conditions that would explain how I ended up with this clot in the vein in my shoulder. Gonna get released in a couple days or so but am going to have to spend six months on a blood thinner called coumadin during which I don't think I can drink alcohol practically at all, after which I ought to be okay. Also have to inject myself twice daily with another kind of blood thinner to hopefully break up the clot called Lovenox which will cost about 100 dollars per day by itself. Oh, isn't it grand to live in a country without nationalized medicine?

Vascular surgeons want me to have surgery naturally, a procedure that would involve snaking a very tiny balloon up my veins through the blockage and then inflating it and pulling to remove the clot, but the procedure has a 5-10 percent complication rate, among the complications being that if they fuck up it could cause a pulmonary embolism, which would more or less kill me. I'm pretty inclined to say fuck that. We're still not sure how this happened to a 26 year old in relatively good health, the best guess we've been able to put together is that I did almost the whole drive cross country with this arm in the same position the whole way and that must've done it.

So it sucks and I'm gonna have to make some life changes, but I guess it's good to be alive and it's good incentive to quit smoking now that I'm in a place where cigarettes are just short of 8 dollars a pack anyway.

Updates to this:

they now are trying to discharge me ASAP, which is what happens when you don't have insurance I guess. It's just funny because the doctor yesterday was playing up what a serious, dire circumstance this is and how we need to take time to make sure I'm alright before they release me, but then of course today she's off and the doctor in her place is treating it like no big deal. This whole system just annoys me so much. The medical practices in this country are enough to make me want to move.

and if you aren't able to download at all, then use it anyway and look for megaupload links, many of them have a 'view on megavideo' link that you can watch online in a way exactly like youtube, without streaming..
