I should probably point out that Fever To Tell is making my top 50 of the decade and the first two EPs are also amazing and fantastic... but wow, the drop off was precipitous.

I can listen to their most recent albums... they just don't make much of a case for why I should choose them over anything else.

Fever to Tell and Is Is are superior. It's Blitz is ok.

I think I got flamed for posting consecutive posts and noticed peeps using multi-posts and thought that was preferred. I also wonder if it helps keeping my name of that baord reader update. (I already know I'm here way too much, I don't need the stats! LOL

Terrible taste in Rap music.

psycobetabuckdown
12-28-2009, 11:24 AM
Yeah is he a Sahara guy? Most people who go to Coachella I assume have good music taste but if they just hang out in the Sahara all day I can understand them also liking shitty rap music.

How does hanging out in The Sahara all day coincide with liking shitty rap music?

psycobetabuckdown

My cousin, for example, who hasn't been to Coachella, likes anything with a good beat. So if I convinced her to go to Coachella, it would be because of all the shitty electro and she'd probably hang out there a lot. She also likes mainstream Black Eyed Peas rap and that stupid Miley Cyrus song about Jay-z.

TommyboyUNM

There you go, Matt. The example of his cousin is what proves a general theory.

I gotta side with psyco on his initial statement here. There seems to be tons of young kids who go to Coachella who do like anything with a good beat, and have no discerning taste when it comes to good or bad electronic music.

Yar. Add me to the crew.

I'll admit, she's a great frontperson - very engaging to watch. But for the rest it's like listening to Minnie Mouse shriek shitty music at 180 decibels. PAIN.

We were happily listening to X during the YYY's set, which is where anyone with any sense should have been.

I had every intention of seeing X at Coachella on Sunday but as I walked up over the hill I heard a familar buzz. It was the Yea Yeah Yeah's playing a cover of "Human Fly". I had to stop and get my buzz on. I'm still a little pissed that I missed X because I'm sure they killed it. Plus, if I was in that tent earlier I could've stayed and scored a better spot for the Kills. But I have bad taste in music...really bad.

locachica73
12-28-2009, 02:16 PM
I admit it, I have the worst taste in music. I like anything I can dance to, I love older music that reminds me of when I use to be wild and free (that includes classic rock and hip hop), I hadn't really heard any "electronic beats" up until Coachella 2008, and if it isn't mainstream I probably haven't heard it unless it was at coachella. For me Coachella is the experience and hanging out with good friends, not so much about which bands I can say I have seen.

Have you ever thought about researching the music, Audra? I mean, since you're there and all. It can make it way better.

locachica73
12-28-2009, 02:33 PM
I do. Once the lineup comes out each year my lovely sister makes me several discs and I listen to them in my car. My problem is I don't have a home computer anymore so I don't have anywhere to store music other than burnt cd's and those are hard to follow along with since its usually just a mash up of different artists. So I can't tell you who is singing what. I am all about learning new things, I just don't really have many ways of doing so. But that is one of my new years resolutions, to actually have a clue what you all are talking about and not be so sheltered from new things.

What makes this funny is the very people they're talking about are the ones that would hear really good EDM and find it to be too weird or boring, or something else.

There are in fact people that just want to listen to music WITH BEATS, whether it is hip or dance music, or whatever. Basically whatever they can shake their ass to

I still don't agree with his original statement. I don't think you'll find a lot of Sahara heads at Soulja Boy shows.

You're right, but I think what he was saying that based on that particular person's bad taste in music that he as a Coachella-goer would be a Sahara person based on his musical tastes, as opposed to saying that all people in the Sahara like shitty rap music.

This of course meaning, that if Soulja Boy fans were to be at Coachella they would probably spend most of the time in the Sahara.

hahaha i was just reading waaaay into what had been said originally, and basing it off of a lot of "regular" (IE non-music nerds) that i know and how they judge music.

You understood EXACTLY what I was trying to say. I feel embarrassed that it takes the drunkest guy on the board for that to happen, but fuck making things clear online.

The only reason I brought it up was I was curious about PJandBompton's other tastes besides the stuff he listed. And locachica is another example (like my cousin) of what I was talking about. Some people go to Coachella just to dance. I was trying to figure out if PJ was one of those people or if he had some other stupid reason for listening to Soulja Boy and Gucci Mane.
