i figured id start a thread so we can use this for helpful info when going to coachella 07. im curious if anyone has any "special routes" they take to the polo field. any tips or advice is greatly appreciated. for us, we are coming from sacramento and staying in palm springs. the night before we are gonna make a run to indio just to check it out so any p.springs to coachella info would be great. :)

i do have a special route, but why would i give it away on a message board read by thousands of people??? it's special for a reason and if everyone knew about it it wouldn't be special anymore, would it?

Of course it's not easy... it's a shortcut. If it were easy, it'd be called "the way".

if you want to avoid traffic at Coachella your best bet is not to go.

This year traffic down Jefferson should be alot easier than years past.

Jefferson has been undergoing ALOT of construction. Last year the streets widening was ALMOST complete, I think they opened up 2 extra lanes going both ways like a week after the coachella(ROFL).

Currently the only bottleneck would be the bridge over the wash, but that should be finished alot sooner than april.

Traffic shouldnt be a problem.

and yes, this is the lamest thread ever but its a sexy lame thread.

Look at the map. We go your way, that's about four inches. We go my way, it's an inch and a half. You wanna pay for the extra gas?

I arrived Thursday evening around 6pm and the traffic wasn't bad at all. The only thing that was bad was the long line waiting to get into the camping grounds. This year I am definitely getting there when the on-site camping gates open, and probably leave Monday morning 10am. I'll get the WHOLE Coachella experience.

traffic after 4pm is not bad, traffic before 10 am is not bad, all other times - its very much bad and very much expected - carpool if you can.
