According to a report on Nme.com, The Rolling Stones have quashed rumours and claim they will not be headlining Glastonbury Festival this year.

Rumors were being spread last year the band may play the event, but the group decided to address the issue directly and state that they won't be touring at all in 2010.

Following recent UK media speculation, The Rolling Stones would like to make it clear there are no plans at the moment for the band to tour in 2010," said a spokesperson for The Rolling Stones.

What's great about Coachella is that it's about introducing us to new bands. I always walk away a fan of a different act. My gripes are usually with the headliners. I mean, who the hell really wants to see Soundgarden or Pearl Jam? That's so Lollapallooza mid 90s. Not for me.

I like the new crop of bands from the '00s. I wouldn't doubt it if they threw in The Vaselines (see earlier post) or the likes of Sade (who is R&B/Adult Contemporary) but gets lots of love in the indie circles somehow. The best part about Coachella is to expect the unexpected - even if it's not for your musical tastes.

For me, 2004 and 2006 were amazing. I follow Ladytron religiously but seeing Kraftwerk and Daft Punk were life-changing experiences. I hope to have more of those experiences at 2010. = )
