This is total speculation, but he just announced four tour dates, his first in over 30 years. He'd be a very interesting addition to the 2010 lineup.

He announced four tour dates? That's pretty cool. I thought he wasn't going to do anymore shows. That would be great if he played Coachella.

That would be awesome. Also awesome would be the look on 60 year old faces when they see the way we party at coachella.

Yes, I'm sure the people who grew up in the '60s never partied. Ever.

I was there! Fucking incredible. He could totally take the Leonard Cohen spot. boardwoozel, he did have issues, and he wrote a song about it.

Does he only do his Yusef stuff? Or does he do the old Cat Stevens stuff too?

Cat Stevens is dead to me. Yusef can eat a dick.

Recently, he has begun to play his old stuff again. For a long time, though, he distanced himself from this old material as it conflicted with his "new way".

I guess he got over it.

RACISTS.....
it shouldnt matter what religion he's from. he's a good artist. Don't hate. I've always loved Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), and just because he converted to another religion ain't gonna make me hate him. His music is amazing. :)

i love Cat Stevens. the Yusef stuff is good, but not really in the same vein of his classic tunes. this is one classic rock artist i didn't think of, that i totally support at coachella along with the obvious bowie and neil young.

I support this thread.

Also, kids of my generation might actually start to listen to him on their own because of that new T-Mobile commercial with Sing Out in it, jus' saying.

I would LOVE if he took the Leonard Cohen slot this year. Two legends in a row. Actually, Coachella's had a great track record for this slot. I hope they get John Fogerty soon too. His live shows were pushed up a notch this year and would kick ass in that slot.

I would love for Fogerty to be there.

Fogerty has been signed to play The Show at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage at 9 p.m. Feb. 12, which also happens to be the first year anniversary of the casino showroom.

His last Coachella Valley appearance was as one of the opening day headliners at the 2008 Stagecoach Country Music Festival in Indio.

Cat Stevens sunset at the Outdoor, for me at least >>>>>>>>>>>>> Elvis Costello, or even Leonard Cohen last year.

If you've never heard it, check out "Bitterblue" from Teaser and the Firecat. It'll make you instantly happy, my favorite Cat Stevens song.

I want to revive this. One of my favorite artists. And Yusuf plays about half(ish) Cat Stevens stuff, and they sound nearly as good as they did 40 years ago.
