Coachella Bound

Every year we talk reunions, whos gunna be the big one? COACHELLA has that great ability to pull the unwilling out of retirement..... so lets settle the score. As of right now and looking back at all those that have allready performed, who would be the greatest reunion in COACHELLA history....?

This can be both new ideas and those that have all ready reunited.

I say its a close call but.....

Pink Floyd>Oingo Boingo>Talking Heads

and since Roger Waters just performed id say the only two left are Boingo and the Heads

guess for the fun of it ill keep track.....

Oingo Boingo - 5
Talking Heads - 7

Other Great Reunions
Pulp - 1
Jackson 5 - NA
Jurrasic 5
Fugazi
Pavement

!!!!!!!THIS IS NOW A POLL!!!!!!!

So we're going to reach some kind of asinine conclusion over what a small minority of this message board agrees to be the "best" musical reunion and it accomplish what exactly?

obviously this ones out the window

Why aren't the The Smiths/Led Zeppelin in the equation for that matter?

i was just naming who i thought was possible and my idea of "best".

Zepplin would be great though there not all alive, and id say after Moz's bitching and complaining this year that the Smiths are never ever going to happen.

I hate to pull a suprefan... but isn't there a rumors thread already?

go to hell

So we're going to reach some kind of asinine conclusion over what a small minority of this message board agrees to be the "best" musical reunion and it accomplish what exactly?

id say that the majority of this board has a lot more insight on music then the rest of the general population, i hope to accomplish the fact that Oingo Boingo would be the greatest reunion ever in COACHELLA history...

In regards to the original post my vote is for

OINGO BOINGO

I dont man, the other musicians of T-Heads arent really than important to me. I wouldbt even be able to point them out in a picture. David Byrne solo does a shitton of T-Heads songs as well as his kick ass solo material. Thats very satisfactory for me

Of course I WOULD love Talking Heads (with a bit of Tom Tom Club thrown in) but Byrne is too free spirited and creative for that methinks.

J5 isn't around anymore I don't think.

I wouldn't mind seeing the talking heads but I'd choose Oingo Boingo because they did the "Weird Science" theme song.

because polls are too impersonal

Out of the bands mentioned i would choose: Talking Heads.

My own pick: Talk Talk

Funny how both have the word Talk in them. Perplexing.

I liked the first 500 J5 songs about "takin it back to the old school."
But the second 500 .. it got a bit shopworn.

He won't go deaf after one performance. There are tons of precautions he can take too. This isnt MBV

Not if D keeps forgetting to bring stuff to our holiday potlucks.

OK, that's not true, he brought sporks one time. What kind of shit is that? Real imaginative.
You know what Doris Roberts brought?
A lovely Cajun Skillet Bean Casserole with Wild Rice and Figs. And she's not even related to us. Actually between you and me, I think she's kind of lonely.

As far as this board goes...the top two reunions wanted (and would be hailed for a lifetime) seem to be the Talking Heads and the Smiths, followed by Pavement.

I personally wish and hope every day that Cocteau Twins and Godspeed You! Black Emperor would reunite.....but those are never happening.

As far as likely reunions next year....I think Pavement has a real chance...and probably Soundgarden.

Kiss Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin goodbye, those are never happening.

So, basically, what you're saying is that you orchestrated this bullshit to give your opinion validation? What the hell is wrong with Oingo Boingo just being a potential great reunion for Coachella next year (or any future year)? Why does it have to be the best? What if people disagree? Will that make you want Oingo Boingo to play less? Seriously, what's the fucking point?

I would guess Dire Straits because Mark Knopfler is playing the Gibson on April 16th...

Then he could swing out to Indio to meet the band for a Dire Straits reunion..

I know it's highly unlikely, just making wild guesses.

Edit.

Correction, he's playing at the Pantages theater.

yeah because its september and what the fuck else do you want to talk about. I truely think Boingo would be the greatest possibility. Yes it is a possibility...... COACHELLA pulled Prince.

Id say Floyd would be the best but Roger just played. the Smiths are an even longer shot now that Moz freaked out on the bbq situation and Zepplin is still going to be a few more years.....

So w/ what we've had in previous fests and what we have as possabilities this year who is or would be the greatest reunion ever.

Im honestly super torn between Boingo and the Heads, i say Boingo but its for sentimental reasons but lets face it they both fucking rule. And it was an opportunity to share insight and opinion.

I then realized it would be much easier in the polls section so i moved it there.

But like i said its september, what would you like to talk about?

There is a whole FORUM for rumors, full of hundreds of rumors THREADS.

Are you really saying that every single THREAD in the Rumors FORUM should be combined into one humongous rumors thread???
