This would be the show you kiddies would remember for the rest of your miserable (or not so miserable) lives....Best live show ever.

A Boingo factoid...

If anyone's ever seen the "Farewell" DVD of Boingo's final show on Halloween in '95, you may notice one song from the concert was omitted from the DVD release..."Goodbye Goodbye" - the official last song of the concert. I was there and it was the first thing I noticed on the cover when it was released.

COME ON DANNY ELFMAN, GET BACK TO BOINGO!

However,it's probably not likely...

yeah danny elfman has hearing loss that he is afraid will be accelerated by playing this type of show. he has stated no reunions for that reason.

I always heard it was never on the setlist, and that they hadn't really rehearsed it. so didn't want to release it. Also heard they wanted to keep it special for the people who were actually there.

I was at the Vegas show about a week before that. Seems like there were actually some other songs missing as well. Show was close to 3 1/2 hours, and the video is like 2:40 or something. (EDIT...I have the VHS, maybe the DVD is longer. It's two tapes though.)

I too was there for those final nights in 95@ Universal. That was it. We can wish all we want, but it's not happening.

Weird Science is a good song.

Deadman's Party is a great song too. Or maybe I'm being influenced by my unconditional love for Back To School staring Rodney Dangerfield.

Jesus and the Apostles would never reunite after all those royalty issues.

Man, there's like 20 of these threads. Anyway, I hated Oingo Boingo for awhile, then I loved them, but I've always been of the mindset in regards to them playing again as "Yeah, that'd be pretty cool." But after watching some YouTube from their Farewell show, it's now HOLY FUCK I WANT.

my favorite thing from the farewell show was "We Close Our Eyes". They played all the way through and then Elfman goes on about how they fucked it up. So they played it again. Love that song.

Like Cubrocker said, Elfman has explained on several occasions that he will never do an Oingo Boingo reunion because of his irreversable hearing damage.

Other members though, including Bartek, Vatos, Avila, and Sluggo have been performing Halloween Tribute shows since '05 (with the exception of '08) in LA and Anaheim. Their doing another one on Oct. 29th. They have an excellent vocalist who takes Elfmans place, he's basically like a primed and vigorous young Elfman. Plus an excellent band, they play Boingo tunes and other Halloween style songs. Always an awesome show, about as close to a Boingo reunion as will ever be posssible.

Not many bands can make a song about pedophilia and still be loved but then again Michael Jackson could be a pedophile and still sell out concerts. Oh well Here are some Oingo Boingo Lyrics in case somebody here is living under a rock and hasn't heard anything except dead mans party.

I love little girls they make me feel so good
I love little girls they make me feel so bad
When theyre around they make me feel
Like Im the only guy in town
I love little girls they make me feel so good

They dont care if Im a one way mirror
Theyre not frightened by my cold exterior

They dont ask me questions
They dont want to scold me
They dont look for answers
They just want to hold me
Isnt this fun
Isnt this what lifes all about
Isnt this a dream come true
Isnt this a nightmare too

They dont care about my inclinations
Theyre not frightened by my revelations

Uh oh take a second take
Uh oh its a mistake
Uh oh Im in trouble
Uh oh the little girl was just to little
Too little, too little, too little
Isnt this what lifes all about
Isnt this a dream come true
Isnt this a nightmare too . . .

And I dont care what people say
And I dont care what people think
And I dont care how we look walking down the street

My dad went to one of their last shows when I was in 3rd grade and i was extremely angry that he didn't take me! If i could see them it would be one of the most long awaited shows i could possibly think of... 14 years of waiting to be exact.

I was there. I was 13 years old. It changed my life. No Joke. I missed trick or treating to go. I was 13, missing trick or treating was a big deal. I will never ever forget my Dad saying, "Look, Jesus is in the mosh pit!" I would travel to the ends of the earth to see them play just one more show.

Blah blah blah hearing damage

I don't care what Elfman has said, HE WILL do a Boingo reunion at some point, it's only a matter of time.

Was just at the Vatos Halloween show with Johnny Vatos, John Avila, Steve Bartek, Sluggo, Doug Legacy and a handful of talented musicians to complete the Oingo Boingo line-up. Kick ass show. 23 song Boingo set-list, plus some extra treats.

If Elfman was ever gonna make a return, he would've at one of these shows. He's never gonna do it. I would love it, but it's not happening.
