I think its about time for Coachella to get a composer on a lineup.

Imagine Ennio Morricone bringing his orchestra playing the theme to The Good The Bad & The Ugly and the theme of The Mission on a nice Coachella sunset.

Philip Glass. About 7 years ago, I saw him conduct a live score to "Koyaanisqatsi" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Pretty amazing.

Since Morricone won that special Oscar, he should definitely play at Coachella now.

One of the most legendary film composers of all time, Academy Award® winner Ennio Morricone will return to London in April to perform his Classic Film Soundtracks as part of the 5th anniversary of ATP Concerts' Don't Look Back season. Since 2005 All Tomorrow's Parties have invited legendary performers to present their most classic works live, with past shows including Sonic Youth 'Daydream Nation' (Time Out's Gig Of The Year, 2007), Slint 'Spiderland' and Belle & Sebastian 'If You're Feeling Sinister'.

Morricone has achieved worldwide fame for his unforgettable scores for films including the 'Fistful Of Dollars' trilogy, 'The Good, The Bad And The Ugly', 'Once Upon A Time In The West', 'Once Upon A Time In America', 'The Mission', 'The Untouchables', 'Cinema Paradiso' and hundreds more. More recently his work was used in Quentin Tarantino's 'Kill Bill' and 'Inglorious Bastards.' He has been nominated for 5 Oscars, and in 2007 he was awarded a rare honorary Academy Award® "for his magnificent and multifaceted contributions to the art of film music."

Ennio Morricone will present his soundtrack work live with a 100 piece
orchestra and the 100 person Crouch End Festival Chorus for one night only on the 10th April 2010 at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

If only this could happen out here...

I approve.

I can just hear the Harmonica song from Once Upon a Time in the West ringing out over the polo fields.

Dope stuff!
A few years ago, there was a compilation of electronic artists utilizing his scores.

I don't think they can fit a 100 person orchestra and 100 person chorus on the main stage.

Morricone was set to play the Hollywood Bowl last October but canceled a few days before. i'm guessing that they didn't sell enough $350 tickets.
