The Octopus EP is great too. I almost started this thread a couple days ago. This is a good idea.

He was fun at SunGod this year although I was ragingly drunk.

He opened for Apparat last year and kicked ass. He would be a nice add next year.

I've never seen him and he's always in LA. A late afternoon Gobi set would be magic.

Alright, if we get something gay like Deadmau5 instead of this, I'm cunt punching underage ravers next year.

Not gonna happen if they want him to do that light show, which is a must if he plays.

As psychedelic as Drift is... a night time set will be the only way to go... it won't be as entertaining in the day time...

I agree!
It's the sort of thing that needs to be accompanied by glowing lights and tired but persistently dancing people. haha

... and to post this video. I hate myself for not going last night.

Oh it's a white dude? That's pretty weak. I guess he's still good, even with that handicap.

he's just a normal asian dude with an insanely extensive knowledge of music. his sets range from ambiance opening for Fever Ray to dub-stepish IDM playing a small warehouse for Bassface.

I support him being there 100%

For those who have seen him multiple times: does he switch up his set much? I caught him open for Fever Ray. I really enjoy Drift so I really enjoyed watching/hearing him get down during that set. There were no visuals for the Fever Ray opening. The crowd around me didn't seem too into the set - they were attentive, but maybe people just weren't familiar with his material. I fucking loved it.

Really wish I went, was way too tired though.

Wanted to see Eskmo pretty bad....I heard his set was pretty cool.

(Highly suggest his mix he did for Brainfeeder (http://www.brainfeedersite.com): http://media.brainfeedersite.com/podcast/Eskmo.mp3)

Nosaj can chop it up pretty hard, really enjoyed his set at the Joker show:

I saw the Downtown Independent Show of Nosaj thing.

I talked to Nosaj thing ,he said he isn't playing coachella and then i asked what about Dolab he said probably during the day if he even does play in the dolab.

Also i asked about other shows with the type of light show i saw that night and he said there is no plans of now.Its hard to find the right place to have that type of Light Show.

yeah I went. It was alright.... Nosaj is definitely talented in what he does and makes really interesting beats. It was just kind of boring, I couldn't really get into it. There was no visuals either so that might have helped. Also, The Loft is a pretty strange venue. It was my first time there and I am kinda mixed about the place. The stage is too low and you can't really see unless you are up front. I guess The Gaslamp Killer showed up, but I couldn't tell. There was someone screaming in the mic every now and then and I think it was him.

I wish I had better stuff to say about the night, but I don't :(.

That's too bad. I really enjoy his album so seeing him with or without visuals makes very little difference to me. I thought he was great opening for Fever Ray a few months back. Yes, The Loft is quite odd. I think the venue itself is great- I've seen Dan Le Sac vs Scroobius Pip there as well as Busdriver. I was in the front for both which I really liked cause I could see everything going on up there. Friendly Fires there would have been so great, I was bummed when that show was cancelled. I thought The Loft was strange due to the crowd. Very young and just kind of retarded when it came to being at a show- especially at Busdriver. A lot of the crowd at that show annoyed the fuck out of me, they were going completely apeshit for Busdriver and I highly doubt most of them knew shit when it came to his music. Very odd group of people.

Yeah this exactly. It was a very mixed crowd but not in a good way. The opener Osal8 was playing really bad dubstep imo and the crowd was going nuts for nothing.

Geez. Almost sounds like my Friday night when Rusko was playing.

But it must be the location, yeah? Those particular college kids in attendance didn't come across as knowing shit about music and even less about how to enjoy a show. My brother and I were just looking at them then each other and giving one another the "WTF" face.

I was at the Loft last night as well. Nosaj was alright, I was really happy that he played the remix he did of Camel, but overall the show wasn't very stimulating. And jesus christ the opening acts sucked.
