One thing I'm going to miss in So Cal over the next few years are 28 year old Venezuelan phenom Gustavo Dudamel's first few seasons as music director of the L.A. Phil.

To welcome Maestro Dudamel and for some (well needed) community out-reach, the L.A. Phil is holding a free (+ TM Service charges) concert on October 3. If you live in So Cal and you've never seen the L.A. Phil, this is a great opportunity. You have one of the country's finest and most adventerous orchestras in your backyard. And, seeing 1/4 of the orchestra with some indie band is not the same thing. Acoustically, the Bowl is hardly the best place to see an orchestra, but you can't beat free!

You get Beethoven's 9th and fireworks. Yay! I'm jealous.

Deets HERE. (http://www.hollywoodbowl.com/bienvenido/bienvenido.cfm)
