I didn't realize it was that old.

I would also like to add I have a spongebob pillow sheet/bed cover as well as a SBSP keychain that has his eyes pop out when you squeeze him.

Every kid wished they could be on legends of the hidden temple. I wish I had tried out :(

All though that last maze would have scared the shit out of me as a kid. (probably still would) Like where you have to stick your hand in the right hole to get the correct piece of monkey idol.

You're not old until stuff you remember being a routine, taken-for-granted part of your life becomes clearly associated in the popular culture with another time, when things were very different. Exhibit A, for me: 70s sitcoms. All In The Family, Happy Days, MASH, Bob Newhart, Mary Tyler Moore, The Jeffersons. movin' on up to the east side.

I really dug the fact that the cartoon was done on black/colored paper-it lent the show a somber/gothic kinda feel.

Yeah. The feel the show has was an integral part to its greatness. When I watch it now, it kind of shocks me how into it I was. It was unbelievably dark for someone who was 4 years old when it premiered.

Wow, here's a different twist on this thread... I just spent some time going through e-mails, paying bills, etc and come across a special announcement from Classmates.com... Now, I think of special announcements as DAFT PUNK 2010, Prodigy: The Extended Tour, or the Coachella Fest Dates... Not an announcement about a this year's Highschool Class Reunion... Don't get me wrong, school was okay. I got my GED prior to my senior year, but I wasn't into all the pep rallies, cheerleading, or fundraising stuff, nor, as I'm sure you're all aware was I an honor student. My circle of friends and I enjoyed hanging out listening to music, getting stoned, maybe drinking on the weekends, that kind of stuff. I certainly wasn't a total rebel, seeing as "restriction" had a tendency to be on my agenda at times. So, anyway...
I hadn't been to the previous reunions, so I linked up for more info...*pauses to catch breath*

My 30th Class Reunion! Hellooooo, my reunion is older that most of you guys are! I still have my favorite 501's Levis from highschool! WTF??? (No, I didn't study in a 1-room classroom, thank you!) So, I go skimming through the list of people who have RSVP'd vs those that haven't, or those that are lost. I used to be lost, I guess because this is the first notice I've ever gotten! Anyway, after checking out profiles, etc, or worse, trying to remember alot of people, I'm rather concerned if I should decide to go... While they're all chatting about their 2.5 children, first grandchild, new house and mortgage, second marriage, etc...How will they feel as I'm standing there in say, my rave attire, or black vinyl dress, talking about Coachella, or EDC? (Hey, and how 'bout that "other 2 years of your time," Brokendoll?) They'll be on a Chucky Cheese Level of conversation and I'll be talkin' the Dome or Sahara Tent, and trying to convince them of what they're missing!

Bet that'll make for a new Least Likely category, no? LOL
Now I'm not sure whether I feel old, or?????

My 30th Class Reunion!

So, I have never been to any reunions. I am guessing that the 30th reunion would be for the class of '78? That would have been the year I would have graduated also, except I took the Proficiency Exam and left to start working.

I have no idea what it would be like to see people I haven't seen in over 30 years. I sure have not kept in touch.

Actually, it was the class of 79', but since most of those in my circle were from 78', I decided to get my GED that summer before. Ends up I was getting my State Cosmetology license about the same time my class got diplomas. Pretty wierd that I'm okay with my age, but never put perspective into it until this 30 year shit pops up. Where the fuck did 30 years go? Ahhhhh!

Suffacated is really good about remembering names of people he went to school with, teachers he had, etc. and sees them around on occassion. He went to school here.(He graduated in like 1983, I think.) I, on the other hand, can't remember shit, probably due to the pot smoking, I don't know. The funniest thing to me is out of my group of friends then, I probably was most likely to settle down, have 2.5 children, and live a sedate suburban life spent making cookies, homemade bread, and helping with homework. Ha,ha,ha, NOT!

Cuz, I R smart like geenus! LOL (kidding)
Actually, seeing as my classes were all general ed, and I had no aspirations of becoming a rocket scientist, or any plans for college, I chose to get my GED (Equivalent to a Diploma) and head off into the big world of hard knocks.
Granted, I'm not the most successful person you could meet on the street, but I consider myself pretty genuine and I've managed to make it this far in life. And, quite honestly, I probably learned more about life and survival during that 2 year "lesson" than anything a senior class could have taught me. :rolleyes
My other answer to your question is:How the hell would I know? That was 30 frigging years ago! LOL

HunterGather

haha.
I've learned that a high school diploma doesn't get you very far (though a GED is the LEAST you need to get anywhere!)

Thats why im back in school. I graduated in 2002 and about 2 years ago I realized without some more edumication and the paper that says BACHELORS DEGREE, i prolly won't be able to support myself comfortably in the long run.

I like how this thread from finding out Spongebob is 10 years old, to remembering old Nickelodeon shows to remembering old TV shows from our youth to remembering grade school days :D
