Thanks RagePatton for introducing this to me, i know it is mentioned in the 2010 Sahara Wishlist thread but after researching these guys need their own thread. If you don't think they need to be the next thing to hit the Sahara you are crazy! Them French guys just know how to make music, the new album deserves a Coachella invite.

I knew this guys would eventually get their own thread. I can almost garuntee they will be there in 2010 and everyone will be talking about their set after. Their new album is really enjoyable. I don't think they are anything new or groundbreaking... I just think they make fun, dancey music. See you all in the Sahara next year.

YES! Oh man. Thank God I am not the only person who thought of this when I heard their name. I haven't seen that movie in years, and everything I hear/see their name, it makes me want to watch it again.

As a turntablist I have to say this is pretty amazing. I would LOVE to see these guys live.

Thanks Rage Patton for posting that vid a while back. I'm surprised I haven't heard of them before.

They're good, but the name annoys me to the point that I can only listen to their stuff in small quantities.

It's like listening to a great story as told by a guy who stutters every two words and has no kind of delivery.

lol that's funny, but I feel you. I think "HARD" is the goofiest name ever for a music event. However, I still plan on attending a lot of HARD events in the future.

Not as amazing as The Avalanches, but pretty awesome nonetheless.

And thanks. :) I am actually surprised more people around here haven't heard of them either. I am not really all that into electronic music or electro, but I dig these guys and I find it kind of funny I havent introduced a lot of people to them.

Its a joke from a movie called "The Party." See the picture Ivankay posted above. If you haven't seen it, you should.

I haven't heard any of their stuff on record--but you say they're electronic? Interesting. I've only seen a few youtube clips, but I initially thought they were more DJ Qbert, Mix Master Mike, Cut Chemist, DJ Shadow esk.

That's cool though.

You mean Birdy Nam Nam? Well, they make French electro music... and Justice produced a couple tracks on their new album. The difference is they are all turntablists. So yeah, they are like Shadow, Cut Chemist, MMM, etc., etc., but, different.

I like that. The majority of electro/electronic DJ's don't incorporate turntablism into their acts at all.

There is this great video that I can't find anymore, and it shows some close ups on them live. So you get to see kind of how they do it. And yeah, in fact, I don't know any other electro acts who use turntablism. (With that being said, like I admited earlier, I don't actually know all that much about electronic music.)

So does that mean they stopped doing this?

They make electro music with the same technique as they are using to do that track. For some reason i think if you see them live they will play Abesses, it's one of their biggest tracks. If you like this video check out C2C, group turntablism at it's best.

Their latest record is more electro than anything else, but as stated above, they probably play a few old tracks during their live shows.

I guess this is something they were talking about for the interactive thing. Can't read a word of french so I don't know what's going on. Looks cool though.

They played Abbesses at their show when I saw them in Paris. It sounded awesome. The crowd still dug it too. And they did make it an elecro track, they kept it sounded like it did here.

I only saw about 20 minutes of them, but it was awesome. The crowd was going nuts. I really hope these guys are in the Sahara next year.
