Oh, hells yeah. Let's go obscure-ish

Kon Kan- I Beg Your Pardon. Terrible vocals, great hook.
3KtKmIh3JY0

The Monroes- What Do All The People Know. They broke up before this became popular, hence the awful home-video pastiche.
d2jRez9_mwE

Wall Of Voodoo- Far Side Of Crazy. Post-Ridgway WOV never got any respect, but I always kind of liked them better. I would have rather put up "Country Of Man", which is a lot poppier, but I couldn't find it.
M8P7Pwzf2uM

Haysi Fantayzee - Shiny Shiny- One of the strangest of all 1 hit wonders
SjsnkIP4ddo

Cactus World News- The Bridge. They were supposed to be the next U2. Just missed it.

Technically, Martini Ranch "is" the other guy...I forget his name. I believe he still records as Martini Ranch. At the time they were considered a duo, but a lot of people worked on those records...most of Devo is on this song, and I have another single that has Cindy from The B-52s.

also, everything counts by depeche mode (the live version). that is probably one of my all time favourite songs ever, and my favourite synth 80s pop type song.

we also need some "the promise" by when in rome, "she bop" by cindi loper, "jumping someone else's train" by the cure, "a little respect" by erasure", "walking away" or "what's on your mind" by information society and "fascination" by human league :)

(my apologies for spelling and if some of these technically aren't 80s)

Well, that was the point. It's like giving someone a mix tape, only without the creepy "I'm trying to use other people's poetry to tell you I like-like you" undertones.

Kudos to everyone who posted more obscure tunes by well known bands. We ALL know how "Oh Yeah" and "If You Leave" go.

Yes. I like Under The Flag but I know what you mean. I also love all his FRANK TOVEY records that were more Nick Cave-ish!

Btw- people who make these videos are way off- YELLO's Bostich is from 1980 not 1984.

That whole album frickin ruled, except for the song they let the guy from Jethro Tull play flute on. In The Name Of Angels was my favorite, I think.

I remember someone looking through my albums and being annoyed that I had MULTIPLE Men Without Hats albums, and none of them had Safety Dance on it. Generally speaking, I loved a lot of "one hit wonders" without loving the hit.

They had such shit lyrics though...I mean, this must have took minutes to write.
