I would love Bonobo to bless the polo fields. U guys heard of him?

edit:
Bonobo uses a wide variety of samples in his music combined with heavy, often complex basslines. His music generally develops linearly - with new elements such as basslines or percussion coming in one after the other. In Days to Come, he mixes this sonic background with the clean yet distinctive vocals of Bajka, who often uses harmony to build up a multifaceted sound.

Whilst often touring solo, and performing DJ sets, in 2004 Bonobo opted to follow the growing trend amongst electronic acts of playing with a full band. The band plays live renditions of studio material, with a singer, keyboardist, guitarist, saxophonist, string section, Electronics, and drummer. Simon Green mainly plays bass guitar, and leads the band from the middle.

Would be nice. He might be the token downtempo act next year, I hope.

If not at Coachella, he is at least touring the US in July.

Let me guess... He's probably playing the Mez or the Independant in SF.

EDIT: Mighty. Yep. Much better >>;

how was it?

how was it?

ok in all honesty, no joke, one of the sickest sets i have ever seen hands down. the do lab hosted the party last night, so it had that underground - do lab type vibe. way dope. he pretty much did everything, and then sum. he even threw in some dub step. he def played a lot of his stuff though and it was EPIC!

this guy named RD closed. he was doing a really sick live mix with his mpc. last night was just awesome. couldnt have dreamed up a better night.

after last night, im actually thinking about heading up to SF for the live show later this week!

yes! outdoor theatre sunset would be sweet.

as for last night, his set got uptempo towards the middle, then he dropped this track:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/xPVSfxKTgsY&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/xPVSfxKTgsY&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

the place went nuts!

i would put that set last night up there with any of the dj sets i have caught at coachella. the show was sold out, on a tuesday! there was around 20-30 people who couldnt get in and were hella PO'd. we had to walk by them to get to the smoking area. glad i wasnt one of them. sound system was legit. crowd was dope. the dj booth was set up on the ground level, not on a platform or anything. so you could get real close to the dj's.

All I could find for Bonobo tour dates for 2010:

16/01/10 London - Koko
23/01/10 Belfast - Black Box
2/02/10 Exeter - Phoenix
6/02/10 London - The Relentless Garage
20/02/10 Falmouth - The Stannary
26/02/10 Edinburgh - Departure Lounge
29/05/10 London - The Roundhouse

"OH LOOK THERE'S A HUGE HOLE BETWEEN FEB AND MAY, JUST FOR COACHELLA"
Just kidding. But I agree Bonobo would be a great add.

I've been fortunate enough to see Bonobo spin for four hours and perform with a full band. Both experiences were very cool, but the live band would be the best fit for a festival setting. Here is a video from the Seattle show I was at this past July:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/M9RJCbLZvow&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/M9RJCbLZvow&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Bonobo specifically said that this live tour to the states was a lot of fun and that he would definitely be back sooner rather than later.

Maybe my favorite Bonobo track. Good on you.

Let's just get a fuckin' Downtempo Dome one of the nights. 1 or 2 token downtempo acts are not enough.

Bumped.

New tour dates not only say that Bonobo will be in Southern California during Coachella but also that they have the 18th open. The tour is with a live band - let's cross our fingers folks.
