it's on sale for like 11.69 euros right now, and I'm guessing it's suppose to be at least 100 more euros because that's what the used items are selling for.
Is this liget?

On the American site, it costs $180.

Do they have to give it to us? Or can they adjust the price later and charge the full amount?

TeamCoachellaHellYeah
06-03-2009, 07:01 PM
no, they have to give it to you for the advertised price. They can't bait and switch, that's illegal.

Alchemy
06-03-2009, 07:02 PM
Yeah, Amazon is pretty cool though, because if there is a price deduction after you bought the item, and before it ships to you, they'll make that adjustment.

This is what I was talking about. I ordered it anyway, the worst that can happen is they cancel my order.

This is their agreement. So, it looks like they can cancel it. :-/

Despite our efforts, a small number of the millions of products in our catalogue are mispriced. Rest assured, however, that we verify prices as part of our dispatch procedures. If a product's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and send you the product. If a product's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatch or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

The CDs are the #1 music seller. So you are not the first to notice. They are not in stock, but say 7-11 days. If good, less than $19 for the item including shipping to the US.

Yeah, but so many people ordered that it went out of stock. I ordered when it was still in stock, so technically, I would get one of the ones they already have... but because so many people ordered, they will no doubt notice their mistake, and they do hold the right to cancel all the orders.

Yeah, it's worth the try. The dispatch estimate is the 11th though, so they have a damn week to figure out their mistake and to remedy it... We all must pray to the Coachella gods tonight.

My question is this:

Can they realize their mistake and charge me the full $200 or whatever without letting me opt out? Because that would be disastrous. As it is I'm this close to buying three, keeping one and selling the other two. I win, the people I sell the brand new box set to for way less than $180 win, everyone is happy. What say ye? Will I get charged $600?

No, they either e-mail you directions on paying the full price, or they'll just send you an e-mail saying that they cancelled your order.

Excellent, the wonderfully ironic thing about this is the profits--if this works--are going to help finance a trip to Europe later this summer that includes a stop in London. So at least I'm going to reinvest their fuckup in the correct economy.

*Edit*
Order has been placed, I hope this works. It almost feels like stealing, almost :D

But most likely it will go down like this...

Mr. Cobblestone: Blimey! Dennis, you pratt! You almost flogged that bloke a box set for some thirteen pounds!

Mr. Teapot Esquire: Codswallop, Margaret! That's what it says on the scanner.

Mr. Cobblestone: What's this? A bunch of yanks orderin' the box sets and not paying the full dosh? You've got to fix the price, you daft geezer!

Mr. Teapot Esquire: Piss off, mate! I'll fix the damn price, you fucking git!

Mr. Cobblestone: Right! I'll start sending them yanks the elbow on the e-mail. Think they can make off with our box sets for just a couple fliver! I'm losin' my rag!

While on topic, how does Led Zeppelin rank on your guys' favorite classic rock bands? For me, Beatles are 1. Neil Young & all the bands he's had his hand in are clumped together at 2. And Led Zeppelin's a solid 3.

So it looks like this is the same as the Complete Studio Recordings boxed set I already have except that it has The Song Remains the Same and slightly different CD case construction. It is good to know that I don't have any reason to worry about it.
