At times, I live and eat metal.
It's what I listen to when I'm angry or pissed off.
As often as I find myself in a metal mood, even I wouldn't want to see (true) metal bands @ Coachella.

This Thread is titled different but is pretty much the same thing as what this guy is attempting.

I wonder if people would be into a metal band at Coachella. Doubt it. Too hot for metal.

that's why almost every year has had a metal or hardcore band on the lineup? and several this year?

I think Boris is overdue. They seem like a good fit at Coachella. I was surprised not to see them on the lineup in 07.

High on Fire would be cool. i've been thinking since the inception of Stagecoach that GV should do a more rock oriented weeked at the Polo Grounds (Rockchella?). It could be the week before Coachella and have bands like Metallica and AC/DC headlining. It would be great for new metal bands to be able to play to older rock fans who might be a little removed from the scene. If they had it this past year, Mastadon, Turbonegro, Fucked Up, Black Keys and No Age could have been crossover acts. No doubt something like this would get a few of us going out to Indio for a couple of weekends.

Boris should have played like in 2005 with all the Pink hype.

I like this idea except for the order of the weekends, Mike. IMO, Coachella should get the plush green grass and untainted campgrounds because we're more eco-friendly and appreciate the "green" vibe. (Plus, it makes for a softer camping and dancing cushion.)
Rockchella could take the second week since I doubt they're into plush. They'll just "mosh" away what we haven't already flattened or puked on, and by the 3rd weekend for Stagecoach, the campground will resemble a vast prairie, and the polo field will look like a manure filled rodeo ring. Those Bo-hunks will think they're home on the range and start line dancin' in that shit!
