i believe you. and music scene is so different here in south florida, we dont have radio stations like kroq. you never hear bands like muse on the radio and stuff, i guess thats part of the reason why i never really believed they were as popular as they are. like i KNOW they would play an arena, but i just still have a hard time picturing them filling the bankatlantic center

Jeff, I bet they are waiting on anouncing Seattle (or Tacoma) until after their show tomorrow. I wouldn't be surprised if they anounce it Wednesday morning.

And Vancouver onsale info just got released about 30 seconds ago. $45-$59.50... Presale Friday. I think Im gonna go with the cheaper tickets and make sure to get up extra close at Coachella.

Josh, do not forget, that on the presale page, prices are going to be different, and service fees are very minimal. I tried for the salt lake city show last week and it was $6 service fee. and assume the Seattle date is at Key Arena.

Fresno would be the only place I could think of really, San Diego cant be in there though.

BTW, I think Seattle will be April 12th, that fills in the gap in between Vegas and Oakland. Key Arena has nothing happening, stay tuned. The reason I say this is because they do not play 3 nights in a row anywhere on this tour, the production has to get moved around a bit, so its not the biggest stretch to do that.

It is kind of funny that Muse likes being so subtle with something like registering for a presale, or even the link to get to the presale page. I never noticed the your account button until right now cause I had my login info saved already so it just took me to the next page when trying to purchase and everything.

have you heard the new Editors?! embarrasing.

and, my experience with pre-sales is this...we have two chances. tomorrow's muse pre-sale and then the promoter's pre-sale. i'm going for seats and will hit "search for new seats" if i don't get something in 114/115 (matt's side and close). just keep hitting that and you will get it...sometimes it takes a couple tries but they will come up.

good luck everyone!

Muse is somehow more popular than ever for this tour. They're playing the gigantic Palace of Auburn Hills here. And while it seems like they have not sold anything in the upper bowl (200 level section), the GA floor sold out extremely fast and I've seen lower bowl tickets BEHIND the stage pop up. Maybe TM is just being their usual sly self, but it seems like tickets are flying at record speed. Also I have no idea why they didn't schedule two nights at Madison Square Garden because it only took like 2 days for that whole thing to sell out. Major ugh. Good luck to everyone indeed. Twilight created a monster.

MuseRadio
12-14-2009, 08:59 PM
No I 100% agree with you Geezr. Too many Muse fans think "Starlight" etc. are the greatest thing ever. The thing that struck me most about acoustic x-mas last night is when Matt started the "Plug In Baby" riff. On the HAARP DVD the place goes nuts. At the KROQ show NO ONE knew that song. People were sitting down during it. Muse has a lot of "new" fans who like BHAR and Resistance but still few who REALLY know the back catalogue.

Which would be fine when (assuming) people get their faces melted off from hearing PiB for the first time, but I'll be goddamned if Matt Bellamy and co. neglect their back catalogue just to cater to their more mainstream shit because it's what got the people to come in droves. Sadly I think they're on the way to that though.

I just don't know in what world a song like Guiding Light or Resistance or Uprising or half the shit from the new album can be perceived as better or more significant than Showbiz or Citizen Erased, Butterflies & hurricanes.. etc... i could name songs all night. ugh.

there will likely be a promoter presale on thurs as well, edward. i'm getting 4 tix so, worse case, you get one of mine.

thanks! I'm getting 4 too though. Was hoping to be online right away so I could get the best seats... but did someone mention you can't pick seats anyway, just price level? In that case maybe it won't matter.

edit: yes I went back a couple of pages and supre said it was by pricing level only, no seat selection. I wonder if we will get good seats or if it is worth waiting for a non-fan pre-sale.

that would be highly unlikely as it would require them to use a ticketing system that's not out there yet. we shall see at 1p. like i said...expect another pre-sale through the promoter sometime this week as well.

having thought about it a little more, I can't decide where the best seats would be anyway. closer is always nice, but further back and higher up might allow me to see more. I'm just going to take whatever I get.

i'm going for sections 114/115. but, if they use the big vid screens like they did at NSSN, further back would actually be pretty cool (and in addition to soaking in the spectacle more, will sound even better). if they do have those, they had better hire a competent producer cuz the guy running the board that night had no fucking clue on MUSE and missed a ton of great matt solos by focusing on dominick.

Im not sure if I wanna be lower bowl, belcony, or floor.

If thr $45 only get me nosebleeds, and the rest of the arena is $59.50, then I might as well for for floor tickets. But if I can get good seats in the lower bowl or belcony for $45, than I am going to go with those.

I will test out the Calgary and Edmonton dates when they go on sale. The prices are the same as Vancouver and I am assuming the way thr pricing works there will work the same as in Vancouver as well.

I find Origin to be the best place to start, just due to New Born. Personally, my introduction was through Absolution, which would probably be 2nd best. Unfortunately, I'd say give the new album a listen, if just to familiarize yourself with a lot of the songs from it you'll be hearing in April.

Only the one album you hate...."Black Holes and Revelations". How do you not like that album? How do you HATE "Supermassive Black Hole"? The guitar in that song makes me want to fuck anything with legs and Matt drops the cheesy opera voice for some sexy wanna-be falsetto.

Honestly, I wish I had a chance to see them on that tour but I cant kick myself cuz I dont think they came to south florida (did they supre?)

Absolution was my introduction too. It was introduced to me by a guy who became one of my really good friends, just weeks after he arrived over here from the UK. He could not believe I had never heard of Muse. He put on Absolution and I loved it. I then watched the Hullaballoo DVD with him. A few weeks later, I heard Time Is Running Out on the radio and thought it was pretty cool that just after I was introduced, they were on the radio. Not too long after that, the song was a huge hit. I then bought Origin of Symmetry and it has since become one of my favorites of the decade. Absolution is my second favorite of theirs too.

I couldn't put that record down, and when I bought the bonus that came with the tour dvd containing the Glasto gig, that pretty much did it for me. I think the album flows perfectly start to finish and has just the right balance to almost make it a perfect album for me. Origin, however, sort of slacks off with tracks like "Dark Shines" and "Screenager," but the back-to-back of "New Born"/"Bliss" and "Citizen Erased"/"Microcuts" pretty much makes up for it. I even consider their debut a huge achievement. "Sunburn" is one of the most flawless first tracks by a band on a debut of all-time.

Rage, your opinion on "Undisclosed Desires"?

Funny story. My friend from England who introduced me to Muse, saw them when they were just a high school band. One of them, I forget which, didn't live to far away from him. He said when he saw them, they were in their final year of high school, he knew they were gonna go big.

And any of Bliss, Citizen Erased or Microcuts would cause my to flip shit.

Oh, Supre's a huge fan of the singer so I think you're onto something :rolleyes

Origin is so dark...I love it. And "Megalomania" what a stunner to end an album.

Among their most underrated tracks, although when it comes to closers, a lot of fans seem to realize that the only other closer that competes with "Megalomania" is KoC. I actually prefer RBS, but that church organ to conclude Origin is the kind of epic ending you rarely get in a decade of music.

I don't know if my gayness was just validated or if we just have exquisite taste in men because I've always had a thing for Chris. I think there's a vid from Portugal 2004 where his shirt gets ripped off.

Also the only shows they did in Florida for BH+R were opening for My Chemical Romance. It doesn't look like they play there much, I just see two shows on the Absolution tour and one was a Radio festival show. =/

You and I know whats up, cuz he is goddamn foxy. I'm going to be the one to rip his shirt at coachella. Rip his shirt and feel his heat :pulse

And thank you for checking for me, I would be caught dead at a MCR show. I saw them open for Green Day on the AI tour and the were just fucking terrible.

Megalomania must close their set at Coachella.

Talk about rare but special. I'm not all for Knights closing the set, and would rather the usual extra lengthy Stockholm ending. I mean that ending at Earl's Court is a thousand kinds of perfection. Bliss and the balloons seems highly likely, in which case, I'll gladly be screaming like a teen girl.

Jeff, you can see them upclose at Coachella. Do what I did, see them in the stands and appreciate the entire show from there... then get upclose and personal at Coachella. You did grab some pretty prime seats.

I'm likely using this show as a conflict buster as there's almost sure to be one of the marquee Sahara acts playing then (assuming Muse play Coachella). I'd prefer to be centered as well, for aesthetics and sound. Being super close with this stage setup doesn't seem optimal. We'll see.

So I'm listening to Absolution right now, just got done with The Small Print. This 'Muse is trying to be Radiohead/Queen/whoever' business is absurd.

Some songs, ok. Yes, I'm aware of USE.

This whole 'trying to be' business is a lazy argument. How, show me exactly how the music is arranged to resemble either band. And then prove to me that they set out with that goal in mind.

From where you are seated, sound will not be a problem. So, don't worry about that. Aesthetically, you have a pretty perfect spot. Yes, you will see everything at an angle... but at least you will see everything and you won't bust your neck trying to do so.

And you are just listening to Absolution for the first time!?

reno is so unlikely. i wonder if they may add another date in oakland?

speaking of which, i just scoured live105 and the muse boards and wasn't able to come up with a password for tomorrow's pre-sale. maybe it's simply a matter of them not having released it yet?

i'm sure that one of us will immediately post it here once it shows up.
