One of the most, if not most, influential person in house music. Before daft punk there was Frankie Knuckles.

Bring the Grand Daddy home to Coachella next year. pleas3! =D

If we are taking it back to old school you have to bring Jesse Saunders too. The maker and creator of chicago house music. The sneaker pimps were supposed to play in El Paso and had to cancel for some reason and Jesse Saunders came instead. It was Sweet!

wow. never heard this one. thanks! hella fresh.I can't believe you just heard that one for the first time...

In the early ninety's that song was notorious for being played in the early morning as the sun was rising...I have memories of being in packed warehouse that had been partying all night and as the garage like doors were rolled open to reveal the rising sun to this song...absolutely classic!!!

i would fuckin die if i saw a dj close to this in the early am.

the best pure house functions i have been to are Deep in LA, Soulasm NYC, and Shelter in NYC. ive actually been to only a handful of pure house functions. (aside from our local deep house joint out here in san diego and ny). only cause i have known about house music for so little time.

DJ sting international is the best deep house DJ i have seen. and that was back in febuary of this year.

i posted that vid of "the whistle song" on face book, and one of my friends was saying how she was digging it, we had a nice convo about how this came out so long ago and we were just hearing it for the first time today, May 2009.

whats crazy is that i might not still know what house music is had it not been for my friend droppin some Miguel Migs on me brain two years ago. thats just crazy. Migs was the bridge for me between hip hop/reggae/jazz to house. after i found Migs, i found Farina-Collette-Heather-Kaskade-Sneak...u get the picture. thats how i ended up going back to coachella in 2007, for felix, then ended up getting blown away at coachella as a whole, again.

some people in this world are starved of energy and attention. since they cant receive any in real life, they are forced to settle with what they can get on places like message boards. you will run into these types of people who will try to take your energy and gain your attention, so take heed. dont lower yourself to their level of mediocricy ;)

I love that you guys are giving migsy so much luv!!! I've known him since he was a kiddie and to see him evolve makes me all fuzzy inside!!!

On another note house is all about love and positive energy let's keep the nastiness or name calling out of this thread. There's hundred of others that we can call each other assholes in ;)

West coast...are any of you familiar with Rick Preston??? He lays down some grooven beats and uses beats from such a wide spectrum of various eras...

by kiddie do you mean like before he became big in the dj world or as in the real world (baby)? thats dope either way. i seen him 4 times, once in brooklyn and no one really knew who he was @ that show in BK, but the place was packed and everyone was having a good time, but he didnt get the love like he gets on the west coast. pretty interesting.

did you peep that dj spinna track out that i posted earlier?

yay or nay? honestly

i gotta feeling dj spinnna is going to get invited next year.......

ha. maybe i spelled it wrong. bougie club, as in bourgeois - meaning middle/upper class. pronounced boo-gee. a club where there is usually a strict dress code.
