I'd say check out his side project, called I Only Have Two Fucking Albums, A Nike Promotional Mix, And A Bunch Of Singles. The album, It's Not That Hard To Figure Out On Your Own In Less Than 3 Hours Of Listening Time, is a near masterpiece.

Let's just talk about how great LCD Soundsystem is, generally.

Pretty great.

Owned.

Although, you didn't specify which one was most rawest.

You're right, because I'm not a nobody.

Seriously though, what's wrong with that track? I like it.

It's always seemed like more an "idea" then a song to me. If I had to choose the weakest song of their catalog, that would be my choice (because it's blasphemy for me to suggest that I don't like "New York I Love You")

I doubt that "Freak Out/Starry Eyes" gets enough love. That is one of the most killer dance tracks I've ever heard. It's got pretty much everything: stupid lyrics, krautrock grooves, afrobeat percussion, disco synths, pop hooks, excessive length, etc.

Come to think of it, I don't have any LCD Soundsystem... *runs off to torrent site*

It's not cool if you start listening to it now. Don't bother.

This thread has, happily, reminded me that I don't have the first album at all. Off I go.

Just to confirm, you know I was joking, right?

Yeah, I assumed as much.

And I'm enjoying the self titled album quite a bit right now.

Me too.

i was joking.... i don't think you're hip at all square

BlackSwan

If you think I am square then that means I am even hipper. Sweet.

It is both sad and entirely appropriate to see a hipster snowball fight break out in an LCD Soundsystem thread.

I think this was the intended result for this thread.

Somewhere, James Murphy breathed a sigh of knowing unsurprise.

Oh, how I wish LCD Soundsystem's best songs weren't all non-embeddable.

Ditto.

Then I got to thinking that maybe I'd invite James Murphy to my fantasy shindig - you know, my ideal casual afternoon of hanging out with Spencer Krug and Ed Droste and Zach Condon - but then I got to thinking about how mind-cripplingly intimidating it would be to have James Murphy coming to any kind of social event you'd organised. No, no, I don't think I could handle the pressure to be honest.

Obviously you would have him DJ.

...

Okay, that's the obvious solution. Aaaah.

BlackSwan

Obviously you would have him DJ.

But he would only be able to use records no one else has heard.
