Vancouver is the second date? That is pretty awesome.

Whether or not I attend will depend completely on who is opening: Weezer or Fall Out Boy. I have a feeling Vancouver is going to get fucked and FOB will open.

Really? Huh.... crazy. Well then, I guess I will be going. I just hope FOB play first.

Openers are

Fall Out Boy, Weezer, Taking Back Sunday, Panic at The Disco, All American Rejects, Chester French and Asher Roth.

Im guessing all the bands listed after Weezer will only open on specific dates though. Either way, all the openers aside from Weezer are fucking terrible.

"The manager adds that Blink-182 fans who are short on cash this summer will be happy to learn that amphitheater lawn tickets will be available for $20. “If you have $20, you get in. No fees or anything,” he says."

Tickets for the tour go on sale May 30 at livenation.com

now to decide between sd and irvine. i have always pulled way better seats for sd shows, but irvine is 15 minutes from my home.

Half and half Swan. I know FOB is on the tour in the midwest.(they are from chicago, why not?) Logic goes that Weezer does the end (they are from so cal after all)

So, where will you be tomorrow

Back of the lodge(row WW) middle section. I didn't know that Live Nation had a seat selector program, and thought it was gonna sell out fast. Also when I tried to pull a better seat I acidently selected terrace and didn't realize it so I thought that the lodge had sold out except the ticket I was holding. I was very wrong. :nono

Although with KROQ "releasing" tickets I don't think it will be really sold out and since I am going solo I plan to move up throughout the day.

I saw them when I was in 6th grade at the Miami Arena and that was the greatest night of my life! I bought a t-shirt and wore it proudly the next day, that show was definitely the start of my concert love.

The 6th grade Salah wants to be close too, to reconnect with his first love Mark Hoppus. But yeah, $20 lawn seats sounds terrific! Im not missign this one, we'll make sure to party this time.

I feel the same way. Mark was always my favorite. I was SO in love with Blink in middle school. I remember my sister went to the show in Long Beach and refused to take me. I was crushed. Then they played the Hyundai Pavillion in like the 10th grade and I finally got to see them. That is the worst venue I have ever gone to...so I'm ready for a repeat.

He is safely assuming there will be 2 Irvine dates cause they have a day off in between that first date and Phoenix. There are sections of the tour they do 3 dates in a row, so its not totally out of the question.

I don't like Blink-182.

Then that is sad IMO. I sure as hell wouldn't pay money to see a band I dislike.

I enjoy the memories that Blink 182 brings flooding back to me (8-10th grade). I would also have a beer with Tom DeLonge. Not to mention- my mom thinks they're cute. I don't listen to the music anymore, but I'm going to enjoy singing my ass off to the songs I do know. Hopefully get the same experience with Weezer as well.

lol

this is what all the hipsters use as their excuse for loving blink 182. if you like them - you like them. fuck it.

Sigh. I hate being called a hipster and then feeling like I have to defend myself.

I can't help the fact that their albums are all associated with certain years of my life. I like Blink-182 because of this fact. If they were to show up as a new band at this point in my life, I would think they sucked le ballsack. "Dammit" was the first song I ever remotely figured out by myself on guitar. My (8th grade) friends and I used to laugh about "When You Fucked Grandpa" and other mature, poetic works. Music is tied to a time and place in our lives, and the reason I want to pay to see a band that I have only heard negative things about live is because I have the opportunity to relive some of those memories with my friends.

There is nothing wrong with that. But the fact stands, you like them. Maybe you don't like them anymore in their current state - but those songs still have a spot in your heart, and you enjoy them (whether it's because memories are tied to them, or you enjoy it).

I wasn't trying to single anyone out. I just noticed, that a lot of fans on different boards would always use that excuse when Blink was brought up. Like they had to defend their music credibility. "Oh but I don't like Blink, I just want to see them for memories sake".

I dunno..i just feel that is a bit lame. But whatever, to each his/her own. I personally never liked Blink 182. But they WERE the biggest thing in middleschool, that and Limp Bizkit.

I hear what you are saying. I'm just saying that the nostalgia factor is a huge factor in why people like certain bands at different points in their life (read: not the time they initially got into a band).

Plus, I don't think anyone is denying they like them. You usually don't pay to see bands you dislike.

Yeah true. I guess I've never been into "nostalgia" when it comes to music. Prob why I just don't "get it".

Sorry if I offended anyone.

Hah. I'm actually really opened minded when it comes to peoples taste in music. I really could care less what people like, whatever makes them happy. I really am all for that.

I'm hoping DHARMA2112 is a reference to Blue Oyster Cult and Rush, so that when you say you don't like nostalgia, you can be ironic like all good hipsters.

Im still trying to figure out which Blink shows in So Cal to go to.... the northern cali gigs work better for my girlfriend....but Chula Vista....looks so appealing, even though its a 'work night'...mhm, whatever, ill take what i can get. I moved to Vancouver in 2002 from Peru, where there were no concerts, so coming here my main goals were to see beastie boys live and blink 182, and the time has finally come!

At first I thought I might get a lawn ticket at Shoreline just because of nostalgia (middle school of course, loved Enema), then I watched supre's videos and almost puked, and remembered I fucking hate Blink 182!

I'll still go if someone else invites me but I'll have to get really drunk or high, and I am not a party type.

The Weezer video supre posted is awesome though. Weezer's worth $20 but if I go I'll have to be in the mood for Blink too.

i really doubt they released much of anything in the 100's, best pair i pulled was sec 202 like row U i believe. i'll just get lawn if i have the same luck on saturday.

I pulled up section 203, row A which isn't horrible. They are only letting you buy one ticket though.

EDIT: Just pulled up: Section 103, Row T, Seat # 21

Whoa, nice catch, I'm glad gaslight are coming back around since I missed them at Coachella. Stoked they are playing SD. Did they just announce those US dates?

And I don't think Blink is playing enough old shit for me to go. I saw them enough back in the day. My memories will have to suffice.

got my pair, not too great, but i got them without the fees and i dont have to worry about saturday. section 203, row p, seats 9 & 10. the smaller the seat number the better since its closer to the middle......whatever they'll work and they were better than most of what i pulled 9 hours ago when the presale started, weird.

edit- using all the passwords for the citi/livenation/radio presales the best i pulled up for a pair was sec 103 but way over to the right and row r, also pulled a 202 row g. bleh, give me a 103/101 aisle or 102 anywhere and ill buy another pair and unload my mediocre ones.

I don't know when they announced them to be honest...I got an email from GV saying they were playing the Fonda. I'm glad they are playing SD...I'll have to go down there to see them the night before. I missed them at Coachella as well.
