last album was Hives-sound...
i didn't dig on it at all

new one is epic sounds.. like the Cure's Pornography done in 2009

pretty weird reinvention, but i am loving the new album too much to ignore

paging Alchemy who championed this album in Blackswan's Album Leak thread. some of us discussed it quite a bit in that thread, bug - i think the consensus was that it was a surprising sophomore effort.

and, as i've said numerous times before, "Mirror's Image" and "Scarlett Fields" floors me. Faris has quite the voice. i'm no longer of the opinion that they're a novelty act.

did you catch them at Coachella? the lead singer put on quite an attitude, but they sounded delicious.

This has been discussed thoroughly in other threads, but I guess it needs it's own thread.

The Best FUCKING album I've heard in a long time. Just beautiful.

They were amazing at Coachella.

Seeing them open for the Kills next week.

Yeah it was discussed pretty thoroughly a while back, but I literally just got around to hearing it for the first time a couple days ago, and it definitely lived up to the hype generated around here. Pretty great stuff.

There was no way I could have seen them at Coachella... so I hope their live show pretty much blows.

I can't wait to see these guys open for The Kills, hopefully they will embark on a solo tour of their own in support of this fantastic album shortly.

I don't have room for this HD TV anymore, so I'm going to hit it with a sledgehammer so that nobody else can enjoy it.

Pancakes, that was an odd comment.

It was a joke, albeit a retarded one.

So Bug did you go see them last night?

They were pretty good but played nothing off the old album which was kind of a bummer since I'm a fan of both even though I'm usually alone here

This is my fav. album of 09 so far(yes, I like this more than Animal Collective, and Grizzly Bear, and whatever else has come out in 09). This is a fucking incredible album. Sea Within a Sea is a hell of a track.

I'm with you on this. I think they were better at doing the Strange House type material even though I like where they're going with the new album. It's just not as consistent.

Did somebody call me? Yes, I love this album so much. Ridiculous that Goldenvoice would put The Horrors against My Bloody Valentine. If I saw them live, though, I would like to hear some tracks from Strange House, because I also loved that album. Even before Primary Colours, they were high on my must-see list for Coachella, along with The Kills, Throbbing Gristle, and The Orb... It's so unfortunate that all these bands conflicted with either The Cure or My Bloody Valentine. Poop.

yeah the horrors where high on my list for Coachella. Actually since 08 they where a must-see for me. I went with MBV, but only because I understood the rarity or a MBV show. Plus I have a ticket for the kills/horrors show next week.
