Unless it's Grinderman. That could go on in the afternoon, I guess.

But yes, BRING HIM TO THE POLO GROUNDS DAMNIT. Especially if it's at the Outdoor Theatre at sunset.

Nick Cave live:
fd85SK7dESU
d1fzqtTV2EE
BGJmji0_rzY
7p1I65sFc7c
FG0-cncMpt8
IYyl78qQPVI

How about some special guests?...
Am1kJM823Vk

Hell, Nick would have fit perfectly on Friday night last year given these covers:
NwIZdh6MqIo
MjEJxr538ZA

So yeah, let's wrestle up some support for this Aussie to come join the Coachella party next year!

I would suck the blood out of an orphan child in front of a small gallery of all my relatives and family for a chance to see "The Mercy Seat" live. If I described what I would do for a Birthday Party set, I'd probably be banned for life.

And I'm sorry about what I said about his mustache. It rubbed me the wrong way yesterday.

This made me giggle. Now everyone at the radio station's looking at me weird.

RELEASE THE BATS!!!!!!!!!!

I think I was 16 when I picked up The Junkyard album.....loved the album cover...music scared the shit out of me...I had never heard someone scream like that before....it was such an intense record...I would love to at least hear some of the BDP songs live...but could Nick's vocals even handle it? Isn't their bassist dead? Would the band even want to do it?
And here was the album cover that drew me to the album..
http://quimby.gnus.org/4ad-pics/TheBirthdayParty.Junkyard.lp.jpg
that being said...I would love to have Nick Cave at Coachella...just PLEASE play SOME Birthday Party songs!! (and do that duet with Kylie....since you know Kylie will play Coachella when her American tour goes well..)

Did anyone see them at the bowl with spiritualized?

It was nothing short of having a picnic with god.

yes it was awesome. He's such a badass.

prettydirtything
05-10-2009, 01:33 PM
yes. Please.

Throw in the Who and Lou Reed as the "oldie" acts and I can knock three 'must see, never have' bands off my list.

everyone here makes it sound like Nick Cave never tours.

PassiveTheory

So what? We should only care about acts who never tour?

No, but there's no need to "suck the blood out of an orphan child for a chance to see 'The Mercy Seat' live." 'Cause you could just buy a ticket and go see him.

I've seen him perform it in front of a pit of unappreciative 14 year old kids who were just waiting for A Tribe Called Quest.

Yeah, I was there...Moonland, Call Upon the Author and Stagger Lee freakin' killed...I'm not sure about sunset set though, I'd almost rather have him do a hour and ten just before one of the headliners on the mainstage.

If he does come next year, personal request for Hold on to Yourself...that's one of my favorites off of Dig and he didn't get a chance to do it at Bowl cause he had to cut set short do to that lame 11pm curfew they rigidly enforce.

Nick Cave into ATCQ? Holy shit, when/where was this?

I wish I went to Spiritualized/Cave show @ the bowl, heard it was stellar.

Okay i'm going to be "that guy" in this thread.

I don't get it.

Can someone please tell me what I should be listening for? He looks like a bad lounge singer. The songs aren't that bad, but... nothing special.

I probably just don't understand the context. Please enlighten!

PassiveTheory

There's nothing to get. Nick Cave is a fucking legend, if you don't like the music then all I can tell you is to try and spend some time with some of the records, and if that doesn't work, then there's nothing I can do.

That record gets slammed whenever I see a review of it... I'll pick it up someday. Till' then, gonna keep on rockin' out to Let Love In, Murder Ballads and The Boatman's Call.

I think the Bad Seeds are done since Mick Harvey left that leaves Nick Cave as the only original member. So as I understand it because of that reason he's just going to concentrate on grinderman from here on out. Glad I got to see them at the Hollywood Bowl on the Dig tour if that's true.

patriotsftbll786
01-15-2010, 08:46 PM
I don't think they're done, they'll just never be able to replace Blixa Bargeld AND Mick Harvey. Or any of the many other Bad Seeds who have left the ranks over the years.

But yeah, Grinderman does reportedly have an album coming out in 2010...
Maybe?
