there needs to be more of a balance here. more love is needed for deep house, drum n bass, and reggae.

the underground house scene is frickin sick. bring some dj's like:

sting international
Dj spinna
The Martinez Bros
Peven Everett
Dennis Ferrer
Swirl people
Lawn Chair Generals
Roger Sanchez
Kenny Dope
Miguel Migs
Tony Humphries
.....u get the picture

u cant understand it unless you are "deep into the vibe of house, deep into the vibe"

How about just more house and techno, and less electro? I would be cool with that. Bring Farina back, get Derrick Carter back....how about bringing in Frankie Knuckles finally???

And since we need legends...little louie vega!!!

Marooko...you need to check out Jeno's into the void radio station...some good shit going on there...

Louie Vega spun last in 2006...like I said before, the Sahara use to actually be good, but ever since 2007, it's been nothing but a steaming pile of dog shit with a few gems to be found (fatboy, aphex, s&d), but on the whole...the Sahara blows these days and I fear will continue to do so.

Deep house has a strong jazz and disco influence with alot of soulful vocals. Lots of sax and trumpets in deep house. Basslines are alot smoother, funkier and deeper.

thats a good way of explaining it up top. (one comment up)

deep house has a slow, but nasty vibe to it. there is nothing like it. its way underground too. and there arent that many good house djs either compared to how many house djs are out there.

check those people i posted up top. but to really feel deep house, you need to be at a venue with house heads, good dance floor, and awesome dj. that is how you get "deep into the vibe" of house.

I wouldnt mind seeing Q burns Abstract message, East Coast Boogiemen, Julius Papp, Brett Johnson, Derrick Carter, Halo, Demarkus Lewis or of course Mark Farina. I lived in the Las Cruces, NM/El Paso, TX/Jaurez, MX area and they love deep house out in those parts. Notorious for their deep house parties and I got to see some of the Best acts from across the world when I lived there. I really enjoy deep house even knowing I'm a Drum and Bass guy at heart.

Heres a great example of some great deep house.

What makes deep house's sound different from regular house? Someone school me please :)

Deep house is a style of house music which fuses elements of Chicago house, disco, 80's soul, jazz-funk and Detroit techno. The Jazz influences of deep house are most frequently brought out by using more complex chords than simple triads (7ths, 9ths, 13ths, suspensions, alterations) which are held for many bars, which give the tracks a slightly dissonant feel. The Disco music sound is a heavy influence in Deep House. The use of vocals is also more common in deep house than in many other forms of house music.

Popular record labels of the genre include Giant Step Records, Naked Music, Om Records, Peacefrog Records and Seasons Recordings.

Edit:

I saw that Colette/Heather tour in Seattle...it was awesome. I've seen Colette perform with a live band before and she's amazing. I've also seen Samantha James perform with a live band, which was good, but she's no Colette. Heather kicks ass also :)

My buddy and I used to go every week. When our friends would ask what we were doing on Sunday night we'd say we were going to Church. Lol! We'd dance our faces off for sure! Haven't been going 'cuz I work every sunday. Booo!
