Incubus. They're a worse band every second that passes. Has anything ever so consistently lost everything appealing? B-52s? A dead body?

I love Incubus. Light Grenades was a little too light, true. What happened to them this decade is what happened to Bush last decade. They start out very angsty with loud aggressive music, and then they get famous and every girl in the world falls in love with the lead singer and they lose their edge.

Hate all you want, but Brandon Boyd is an amazing lyricist and imo Mike Einziger is Top 5 most underrated guitarists going right now.

Yeah he's pretty fat and sweaty now, I'll give you that. As to his ability to perform live, I'll have more info on that this time tomorrow night.

I don't really think you have any right to condemn Van The Man. He's fucking 70. What the fuck do you want from him, exactly?

As far as anyone so consistently losing everything appealing (and agreed--I thought they were going to be a band for our generation when SCIENCE dropped), I submit the following:

Smashing Pumpkins
STP
Foo Fighters

I loathe Billy Corgan for transforming the Pumpkins from one of my all-time favorite bands (Siamese Dream is still a top 5 album for me) to such a travesty. They are definitely on par with Incubus. STP and Foo, too.

Chili Peppers work here, too, I think. I don't mind plenty of stuff from their past few albums, but their gradual decline has been equally disheartening.

Wait. I DO think that STP sucks NOW, if that's what we are talking about. Their suckage started after they had released all their current studio albums though.

Um, Tiny Music is fucking awesome. Are you kidding? Tripping Hole, Seven Caged Tigers, Lady Pictureshow... it goes on.

But No. 4 was a definite step down, especially when Weiland called Sour Girl the best thing they ever made. Then that Thank You bullshit album. And now they're just turds.

Yes, okay. We're on the same page. I like Tiny Music enough. Really, I think all of their studio albums are solid. It's now that they went in the wrong direction.

Yeah, I thought it was brutal. And I have a point of reference for their digression because I saw them in 2000. They were a completely different band when I saw them that year. I'm sure they were a completely different band in 1991 as well.

I hope whenever I do see them they rock my socks. I was just thinking this morning that I have scratched or will scratch off a lot of bands on my Concert Bucket List within the past couple years. RHCP are pretty much near the top of the list now.

I was. It wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. But many of the people (and Tommy, seems you're included here) that hated that show had seen them in/closer to their prime. Though now, there's no way I would've missed LCD looking back. Just didn't know them at the time.

Core -> Purple -> Tiny Music is an unbelievable 3-album run. Their downfall seemed more sudden to me because I loved TM so much. Though some of the live DVD stuff from Thank You was pretty sweet. Namely that grimy boot of Dead & Bloated.

LCD was the correct choice and it seemed plenty of people realized it given that tent was hoppin'. One of my proudest Coachella moments was not even considering the RHCP set.

I watched the RHCP set because, at that point, I hadn't yet heard of Blonde Redhead, and because they were one of the biggest draws for me that year. But yeah, the set was uninspired and I left midway through to get a decent spot for the Black Keys. I actually like By The Way, but Stadium Arcadium is damn near unlistenable.

RHCP
Weezer
Foo Fighters
Green Day
Kings of Leon

I think Kings of Leon is kind of out of place here. I'm not sure if they've had time to fit this category. I think if you liked them a few years ago then you probably still like them now. And if you didn't like them a few years ago....well you know.

Incubus - S.C.I.E.C.E. : amazing
Incubus - Make yourself : amazing
Incubus - Morning View : really good.

After that: shit.

Kings of Leon is starting to drift away to that shit hole too. It's really sad. Because of the Times is an amazing album though.

The biggest dissapointment of this decade has to be The Killers. Hot Fuss: amazing. After that: MEGA CRAP.

P.S.: Billy Corgan should be shot dead for destroying the pumpkins. My fave band of the 90s

Incubus love always amazes me. I used to really like them, but I they were just another one of those bands that I liked when I was too young to know what to like. And, I thought I confirmed that when my roommate's dumb bitch of an ex-girlfriend was obsessed with Incubus.

And LCD Soundsystem was the right choice. Right up front. And Foo Fighters and Weezer are the two I'd most agree with. Both had amazing first and second albums, and then Kablow.
