Yes please! Conga line ftw! :)

If they could actually pull it off (I've seen the conga line fail more times than I've seen it work) that would be so awesome.

Spot on. How Modest Mouse hasn't returned yet is anyone's guess. They need to have a Northwest wet dream day on the mainstage and go The Postal Service (Death Cab) > Modest Mouse > Pearl Jam.

I don't even like pearl jam and that sounds amazing. I would switch it with muse or SP

here are pretty much "SURE" locks...

Perry Farrell or whatever he'll call himself in 2010
Steve Aoki Farrell
Busy P Farrell

Craze and Klever said they "will" be at coach in 2010

as for wish list....

the mummers
asobi seksu
small reunions by
SDRE & seaweed like superchunk this year
annie
maybe a muse headliner

Asobi Seksu's new album is taking an absolute critical drubbing, and 2010 is a year away...with all the solid releases that have already popped up in last few months of 2009, it's hard to see them having much traction as a likely undercard act for 2010..their window as an "it" band may have closed.

The Strokes!!
i LOVE them, favorite band. hands down.
very possible, I deem
they plan on releasing a new album sometime later this year and Coachella would be a most suitable venue after going hiatus for quite a while.

Curious if this was the Set at the Hollywood Bowl May 2008...the band played fine, (far better than Modest Mouse or the National that night frankly) but the volume was for some reason ridiculously low...wouldn't be a problem on the Coachella Mainstage...

With their ridiculously deep song catalog, it's very hard to see them not being an absolute joy on the Mainstage, though so many of their songs are in that 2:30 category, they'd probably be best placed as a Subheadliner and given an hour ten.

Suede

Soko
Dark Night of the Soul w/ tons of guest vocalists.
Lou Reed

The Boo Radleys
Neil Young
David Bowie (of course)
Boards of Canada
Rip Slyme
Mondo Grosso
Avenue D

And more I can't think of...

bands I'd really like to see at coachella next year:

I'd also see a great classic rock band like the rolling stones, the who, or eric clapton (or cream). i see it as unlikely (but so is radiohead) but it'd still be sweEeet.

its not that unlikely. COACHELLA has found that they can pull off the Classic Rock act, Roger Waters, McCartney, Cohen, etc..... and in all reality each year were losing more and more classic rock acts to death.

So there's only a few left to pick from. id say you pretty much nailed it on who the big three possibilities could be this year. Personally id like to see the Who.

Didn't Grand Ole Party break up?

yeah, im still trying to figure out exactly what happened. I know the split went down mid tour w/ the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. They had a whole album and everything ready to be released.

a little secret though for all those who were actually fans. Kristen is actually using an alias now and is fronting the Dum Dum Girls

Awesome. Get her album and if you can find them, the old songs and demos (some old songs were formally released recently but I can't find mp3's of them except on iTunes). But really, live is where it's at. And if you dig it, start a "Emmy the Great for Coachella 2010" thread because if I do it, it won't happen :(
