I can't believe these guys haven't caught on south of the border yet... Canada's best-kept secret.

A DJ who tours live with 4-5 guitarists, all riffing away at once, and an awesome haitian vocalist. Totally unique sound and awesome fun to dance to.

3 acts I am VERY surprised have never made it to Coachella:

1. Secret Chiefs 3
z4_fbW_4w84

2. Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
CCJMy6zdUR8

3. Andrew WK
(put aside all your judgment and musical elitism for a moment and just acknowledge with me that seeing him live at Coachella would be such a happy, positive, fun, beautiful, and amazing experience)
OMge2Bd4vbs

All three of those just fit the Coachella vibe so perfectly and are alot of fun live. I would be thrilled to see any one of those on the poster next year.

I've seen them though I don't really remember much about them. Pretty sure they opened for Belle & Sebastian when they played at Concourse.

Smaller bands I'd love to see: Metric, Lykke Li (again!), Art Brut, Jose Gonzalez.

They worked with Christopher Berg on their debut album coming out in May. Berg has worked with Robyn, Fever Ray, and The Knife. Kind of like if Hercules & Love Affair were from Denmark. Check them out.

Asobi Seksu. Seriously, a great band that wanted to play and was available forever doesn't ever get to play, but Steve Aoki plays twice?

Final Fantasy would be brilliant.

I guess neither of these are that small. But small enough that they'd end up in the gobi or mojave early in the day.

I saw a girl at the cure wearing an asobi seksu shirt at the cure last year and it made me so happy.

But yeah, still small. Hush didn't even break the billboard 200.

They are seriously bad ass. would be perfect for coachella and I don't think they have been to the states yet. not positive on that one though. they are coming out with a new album at the end of the summer as well.

Crown City Rockers has never played Coachella??! Thats disappointing to hear. Someone mentioned Blu & Exile. Id second that nom.

I mentioned him in another hip hop thread on there, but anybody ever heard of the Kev Choice Ensemble. He/they're from Oakland, CA. He used to be the band leader/tour manager for Lauren Hill. He's also been in the band for Lyrics Born and is currently with Zion-I when they perform with a live band. He collabs with just about every bay area hip hop, R&b, soul, funk singer/artist. Ive seen him make white middle ages mothers/grandmothers dance in the streets of Oakland at night during his performance.
the youtube quality is crap, but this is one of the best "new" bands I discovered in late 2008 and saw him prob a dozen times in 2009.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B89anDQ2Gds
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHPYHx-AdS0

Ill toss out Zion-I too cause I dont think theyve played coachella before, but I know AMPLIVE could bring an awesome DJ/producer set to one of the tents or something. I saw him open for Street Sweeper Social Club and theres few other DJs/producers at his level.
