didn't DnB die a while ago? who is prolonging it's death? I could go for some IDM acts, but i'll pass on the dnb.

dj marky would be nice again.. he can tear it up.. I know a lot of people don't like pendulum anymore, but it would be cool if they did a live set.

they should bring dillinja, lemon d, and congo natty..

dj marky just played in los angeles a couple months back so i would rather see someone fresh. dillinja and lemon d can't mix that well, so i would like someone who can actually mix with skill.

In addition to the aforementioned acts, AK1200 and Dieselboy have also played Coachella, so i wouldn't be surprised if we had a D 'n B DJ this year or two. They even did a big D ' B 3x3 back in '99. I'm hoping for Ed Rush and Opitcal, nasty nasty Techstep.

2001 was when the planet of drums tour was booked to play. (potd = dj dara, ak1200, dslboy) also, that year i believe they had a bunch dnb acts.

i hope to god that POTD isnt the drum and bass act this year. another thing, i hope they pump up the sound system because last year it was shit and they kept turning it down while shy fx was playing, which was obviously pissing off shy fx. granted, im sure shy fx was probably red-lining the mixer to hell, but still.

dj marky would mos def be bad ass to go see this year, but andy c would be better. :D

Unforunately there has been a steady decline in quality underground DJ's since the beginning but I'm glad there is still some commitment by Goldenvoice. When y'all are talking about SHY FX that was in the dome, right? Other than Cut Chemist (who was one of the highlights last year for me), the sound system in the dome was extremely frustrating. Jungle at low volume doesn't really work the same. But once again, I'm glad it was there.

The Do-Lab really stole the show last year and I certainly hope they will return. That was the real shit and made up for some of the mediocre commerical acts in the Sahara these days.

Ummmmm The fucking Dome will be all d'n'b i don't think that above and beyond will play the dome, they will just be added to line-up later, thats my bet... you will definitely see some d'n'b act there and if not pendulum could play dj set, but that would kind of piss me off im looking forward to one of their live performances

Uh, like, Hello? Didn't Total Science play the Dome last year? I remember them playing for sure.

Can anyone answer why the Dome schedule gets added into the program when you get to the festival, and not before?

I don't know but I hope Aquasky play at the dome. The guys are working in LA the next months, so I wouldn't be surprised to see at least Keiron there. I call it.

Yeah TS played in the dome last year, I think Bassrush hosted the DNB festivities. They dont really announce a dome or dome schedule till you get there or a few days b4 (like last year) cuz its just a yummy bonus. There may night even be a dome this year for that matter. You just gotta wait and see.

No... fuck you! Coachella this year already has enough alternative rock/dance punky bands... I think some real EDM is needed to balance that hipster contingent out. Unless we get The Prodigy or Underworld or something to add a little weight to the dance side, I'm totally in favor of having the dome back, with some sick DJ's. Assuming they get the noise bleed fixed (maybe just have a tent instead of a giant playground structure?), it'd be way cheap to just set up turntables and rotate DJ's in throughout the later day.

You guys don't know shit about jungle/drum&bass. Coachella had many d&b superstars for years on there lineups: (Breakbeat Era, Roni Size, Die, Dynamite mc, dj Rap, ltj bukem, blame, mc conrad, slipmaster j, ramond roker, jun & mc ?, Reprazent, Aphextwin, photek, bad company, rinse&flux, ak1200, dara, dieselboy, Kosheen, dillinja & lemon d, dj marky, shy fx, t power)... But now goldenvoice sucks, and has lost touch with the electronica underground music scene. They could care less about the Drum & Bass music and it's fans that made up A-LOT of there lineup back in the good ol' days. All they want now is "pop" stars to sell tickets at crazy prices. Greed has taken this festival over and its prior quality in choosing good electronica/hip-hop music acts. Fuck Coachella and there back stabbing ass. Weak EDM.

Goldenvoice is damned if they do and damned if they don't...

There is a decline of interest in dnb all over the country. I went to a Tech Freaks show on Halloween in Phoenix and I don't think more than 15 people were dancing at one time. So blaming Goldenvoice and accusing them of being greedy, not caring about a certain fan base is a little harsh. I LOVE jungle, but there are a lot of events -local and out of state- that I can go to that cater to that genre of music.

Pendulum is tooling with a live set, which is why they'll be making an appearance. I did see Total Science last year as well, and it was ok except that I don't particularly like guys in all black just standing on a stage yelling things while the DJ hangs back and plays beats for them, but if that's your thing...

PS - I label most electronic acts this year "American Apparel"-friendly. Which ones do you think I'm talking about? (think golden-stretchy-pant-wearin-cigarette-smoking-ugly-white-18-yr-old-fat-but-still-anorexic-arms music). I like em, but they were here last year too (another thing GV has been sucking ballz at).

Speakin of which, SebastiAn is about as close to electronic as Prodigy, but perhaps we differ in opinion (he definitely doesn't wear stretchy pants, although he does have anoreic arms... w/e :) )

Don't be the bearer of false news, same goes for the other person that said no one is into it.

We played the dome the first night last year from 9-12p, we being the Junglist Platoon based out of Los Angeles.
Chances are we'll be playing the dome again this year along with other local acts.

Just because you don't hear it on the radio or you don't see it on t.v. doesn't mean it's dead.
Drum & Bass is one of the largest underground culture's alive today & as it grow's it continues to morph into something of it's own. Which can't be said for a lot of stuff that get's passed off as music these days.

No, its not all EDM this year, and you can't call an alternative rock band EDM. I will allow that, so far as this recent indie/electro movement goes, Justice, Digitalism, and that sort are EDM. LCD Soundsystem and Fischerspooner (and most of those synth-poppy dance rock bands playing this year) are just bands with laptops. Same goes for "Does It Offend You" and all that stuff... it's just dancey alternative rock.
I'm not saying there aren't some good electronic acts here: Justice, SebastiAn, Danny Tenaglia, Adam Freeland, Pendulum, etc... I'm just complaining about all these hated indie-rock bands.

This is completely right...... DnB is why I started going to Coachella in 99 ....wow, how the times have changed...... What I would give for an act like Breakbeat Era or C4C
