Someone give that singer a medal for being so fucking awesome. After moving through the crowd the entire time, he calls an asshole on groping one of the girls who was crowd surfing, and at the end of the show he holds up things that people dropped in the pit and asks if anyone lost them and that if they lost it, they can find him at the record store signing at five.
And the music was good on top of that.

On top of that he didn't hide around backstage and was right in the audience just like everyone else. I ran into him in the Mojave after Throbbing Gristle and thanked him for the awesome show he put on and he was really nice and appreciative.

Couldn't believe I got to see this right after Friendly Fires, what a fantastic way to start Sunday. Big sweaty mess, that was. Pink Eye is as good a frontman as it gets.

Their set was one of the best things Coachella's ever seen. I knew it would be, they're one of the most amazing bands around right now. Seriously, everything they do is great.

My expectations for this show were blown out of the water. He was easily one of the coolest frontmen I've ever seen. He just seemed like a no shit, honest, hairy, sweaty, bloody, bad ass dude.

He's so cool. I talked to him after Throbbing Gristle and he mentioned that he's seen me at other shows and thanked me for it. SO fucking cool.

I got his man sweat all over me from being on the barrier, and didn't mind too much. Great show.

FANTASTIC FUCKING SET! My friend and I were at the barrier the whole time. Right after he starts bleeding he comes up to my friend, takes blood from his forehead and spreads it on my buddy's forehead. Needless to say, my whalers t-shirt will never look the same.
Everyone's right about how cool Pink eye and the whole band is. Its great to see bands like Fucked Up, No Age and The Hold Steady having so much fun performing and seeing it on their faces.

he turned around before he was cut, i couldn't see that clear, does anyone know how he cut his forehead? Did he bash his head in repeatedly on something or did he razor blade himself?

he bashed his head with the mic but i think he cut himself with a razor blade first- its a wrestling stunt

and did mention that professional wrestling is awesome in his speech about cool kids
I thought the set was amazing...it wasn't the sideshow spectacle everyone was making their sets out to be, it was just a genuinely good hardcore show. The music was extremely tight and the singer is an incredible frontman who has a lot of respect for his fans and the scene.
I will catch these guys every time they come to town from now on for sure!

I was so glad to be in the front for this show. I had seen them in Edmonton
the previous Sunday, and was blown away by their intensity. There performance at Coachella was masterful.
I saw Bob Mould was watching from the sidestage - he seemed to be really into
Fucked Up and No Age before them.

Fucked Up were definately one of the best acts of the weekend. So much fun it was rediculous. AND to top it off the lead singer was a really cool guy. Major respect for stopping the song when he saw that chick get grabbed. And for holding onto peoples keys for them.
He was insane though. I took a bunch of pics and a video, I will upload them all soon hopefully. I found it hilarious how he was helping out crowd surfers. Also, the blessing people with his blood was great.
Funniest moment of Fucked Up, when board member pancakespancakes got his face rubbed in the sweaty, bloody man boobs of Pink Eye. I was laughing so hard. I gave him a high five for that.
He's so cool. I talked to him after Throbbing Gristle and he mentioned that he's seen me at other shows and thanked me for it. SO fucking cool.
Giving him a big hug after Throbbing Gristle completed the best day of music ever at Coachella.

The video isn't done processing, so it looks bad. It's not a fantastic video to begin with. I may attempt to stabilize these and improve the audio using the bootleg, but here's a nice visual of being in the pit:

Yep, Fucked Up and their contemporaries are yet another factor that set Coachella apart from the rest; all the lesser known, top quality tent acts from 1-5pm. Fantastic set.

One moment, they are just a bunch of nice Canadians. Then they become this raging spectacle of awesomeness. Then they become nice Canadians again. Fucked Up was one of the great surprises of Coachella.

I'm glad so many people enjoyed it. For me, rather than being one of the great surprises, they were the best affirmation. They are just a great, great, great, great amazing band. We dont' see too many acts like them.

I'm attempting to figure out the setlist. I know this much so far:
Son the Father (missing from the recording floating around)
Magic Word
?
Nervous Breakdown (Black Flag cover)

I spend nearly all day in the Mojave, starting with Vivian Girls and leaving
after X (to see MBV). I returned for Throbbing Gristle to end my weekend.

They played Police right before Nervous Breakdown, and I know that they played Crooked Head, Generation and Crusades at some point.
