Do they really check your I.D. at the gates?

I just bought my tickets online and used my mum's credit card (with her permission of course) and HER name is on the tickets, will this be of any problem?

please clarify... did you do will-call, or are the tickets coming directly to you via snail mail/ticketfast etc.? if it's the latter, you have nothing to worry about.

Will Call means you buy tickets to stand in line.

youre fine. they will check your ticket/paper with a scanner, wait for the beep, and let you in. will call is having your tickets held for you at the venue. you must have your id and credit card for this. this usually occurs when people buy their tickets close to the event date which also does not leave enough time for postal delivery. but you should be okay. enjoy!
