For those unaware, every year, Coachella has one performer each year that is only on handout list of bands when you arrive at the show.

This part is bs.

or they're playing a full set...

or they're doing with Etienne De Crecy what they did last year with Waters/Justice...

no way. The Cure play for 2 and a half hours all the time I call BS on this article. I'm more curious as what's up with the huge gap between MIA and the Killers.

I agree with this.

Though even if it were true. The Cur ewould prob at least play for hour and a half. Leaving the beastie boys with less than an hour.

Leonard Cohen, Paul Weller, & Jenny Lewis play to (mostly) a silent Main...

but the 40 minutes between MIA & Killers is fairly normal... at least, it's normal for their to be a 30-40 minute set change prior to the headliner...

maybe they need the extra time to set up the Killers' cube?

The Cure played for 3 hours at Sasquatch last year, and FYI, the Beastie Boys are old and washed up, when they played Sasquatch 2 years ago, halfway through their set, the crowd had almost disappeared... Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but it was one of the biggest disappointment's of my life!

He said be nice to these guys they are called QUASAR and three guys came out in orange jumpsuits and it was the beasties they played for an hour and did nothing but punk covers like minor threat and such it was an awesome awesome night

Couple things about The Beastie Boys at Sasquatch in '07
1. Some people were likely drained from the wind storm that
2. Half their main stage set was the same stuff they played the night before on the Wookie stage.
3. Mix Master Mike was reportedly performing while ill that weekend.

It wasn't fantastic, but there were some great spots during their set.

As for The Cure... Sasquatch was a make-up concert for a Seattle date they cancelled previously, so of course they played a super long set.

In my dreams. But really not even necessary this year. I saw Beastie Boys at Langerado and it was fucking awesome, they still know how to put on a great show.

However, GV is obviously not going to announce any more special add ons now that the set times have been released. Absurd to think otherwise.

I pulled up the list of writers for Loudhawk, are you sure this site is reliable?

Will Angelos- Co-Founder of Loudhawk.com and lead singer of hardcore outfit Autonym, Will Angelos is extremely involved in the music scene. Having honed his skills at Decoy Music, Will has been on both sides of the industry and brings with him an interesting mix of views from both the media and the blood and sweat that goes into being in a full time touring band. Will currently lives in Philadelphia Pennsylvania while commuting back and forth from Virginia where he is playing bass in Hunter Smith and the Dead Men.

Tom Good- Someone write something about me...there is no way in hell I'm being the guy that writes his own Bio.

Graham Partridge- Residing in the Philly area, Graham is heavily influenced by a vast array of genres. Currently playing guitar in Hunter Smith and The Dead Men after receiving a degree in music industry from Northeastern University in Boston, Graham brings his knowledge and experience to the site in both the creative and opinion based aspects necessary to keep things interesting.

Yes people seem to forget that GV is supposed to sell tickets to make a profit. Big names ultimately drive ticket sales. For GV not to be touting the likes as Depeche Mode or Beastie Boys makes no sense when the festival is far from selling-out.
And yes, The Cure are headlining the Main Stage and will likely be on for +2hrs at least-thus ending at midnite.

I also like how folks keep saying, the set-up for The Cure could take 15 mins. It takes more than 15mins to set-up a Main Stage for an headliner. The roadies need at least 30mins, and preferably 45mins. Most times headliners are about 5-10 minutes late to the stage.

So just please stop the wild stabs in the dark because thats what you endless speculators will get.
