so glad i got camping passes too, i was getting worried when i saw all the sold out threads...

just out of interest - how secure are your tents at coachella? at glastonbury you gotta be really careful theives dont nick all your stuff. they'll take your tent if youre not careful... are people better behaved stateside?

If you think Glastonbury is bad you should see Leeds festival, one year my tent got thrown on the fire with all my stuff in there. Luckily 'all my stuff' was only a sleeping bag and some spare clothes. Also it was the last night and I had my alcohol with me. All in all I was pretty glad because it was a shit tent and it meant I didn't have to carry it home so I could carry more beer back (It was the year when the beer lorries were smashed open and thousands of crates were stolen. Good times)

~fab81~

getting your tent robbed or messed with is horrid. though the bonus of not having to carry it back probably was great!

we wont need out tent after coachella... anyone want a free tent?

I've only taken 1 tent home from Leeds festival having gone 5 times but now I've got a brand new one so want to keep hold of it, I'm not looking forward to lugging it back to the UK. I'm sure I won't mind carrying loads of things there but I can just imagine the monday morning now: Absolutely knackered after not sleeping properly for a week, very hung over after the nights partying, 1,000,000 degree, face melting heat and a long bus ride ahead followed by a 15 hour trip home. Oh and work the next day. And I'll have just seen Rage Against The Machine's reunion so I'll know the rest of my life is going to suck by comparison. The thought of having to carry a tent too might be too much

Where you getting the greyhound from? How much is it? How close to the site does it go? I'm still not sure if we'll do that or get a plane from SFO.

we're going from coachella to hollywood

if you've never been to hollywood and need suggestions on where to hit let us know. i'm sure there's plenty of ppl on the board that could help

~fab81~
02-15-2007, 07:20 AM
oh yes all suggestions are welcome!!

as for the greyhound, its from hollywood to indio, and back again. 2 adults = $76.00 not bad at all.

that's not a bad price at all. what do you wanna see or do? so cal has anything you want especially in hollywood. you want to see celebrities, do you wanna go to cool bars or do you want nice restaurants or clubs? another thing is you could luck out and find a cool gig at the whiskey or somewhere near your hotel. check out the local clubs to see who's playing

~fab81~
02-15-2007, 07:27 AM
awww how helpful!

cool bars, gigs etc live music is really our scene. im into spiritual/hippy type stuff, but im not so fussed on pushing that. other than getting married in san francisco, seeing las vegas, and doing coachella we have no plans and are open to anyyyyyy cool ideas.

gonna sound funny but you can try tm

also, google those cities and type in "music clubs" or "live music" or try any variations until it works for you. typically most places will have websites with a calendar of events

Good Idea! way to be adventurist. I've camped the last three years and have had a blast everytime. Plus, Goldenvoice has made the camping area more accomidating every year. For instance, in 04', it was very basic, but for the last 2 years they've included a huge movie screen, lots more showers, and a bloody mary bar (thats a little pricey) (hear that Goldenvoice... bring down the liquor prices). SCREW HOTELS!
