So I'm only a week away from leaving for Coachella, and wouldn't you know it, I've got an awful cold. I'm talking stuffy nose, 101 fever, the works. Obviously, this is the worst possible timing.

Any personal suggestions on how to get rid of this bitch quick?

This is my remedy and it works!!!
Lots of oranges (Juice oranges 3-5 a day)
E merg n c (or how ever you spell it)
Lots of HOT SALSA...very high in vit C
and give yourself 4 doses of echinacea/goldenseal daily

And chicken soup with lots of veggies...if you can't swing the chicken soup...ramen noodles and add some veggies.

the above never fail!!! And Airborne is your friend for the weekend.!!!

PS...2 sprained ankles beats your cold...

Emergen-c is seriously the best thing. A lot of people think it's a joke, but it's always worked for me.. I've also noticed if I just take it every other day or so I rarely ever get sick.

keep drinking water, take the aforementioned emergen-c and airborne both, and even if it's just a cold you should sleep as much as you can if u don't want to take any risks...

meaning stay home from work/school if you have to. this is coachella

My theory is that you sweat it all out.

Here's hoping you heal up soon though...

PS...2 sprained ankles beats your cold...I went to a show with broken ribs before.... was dancing around even though it felt like someone was taking a nail file to my lungs from the inside. It was one of my favorite shows of the year, and worth every iota of pain.

Not smart, but we do what is necessary to make our short time on the planet an awesome one.

moomoo

APPLE CIDER VINEGAR.
Drink ACV daily and I promise you'll heal faster and feel GREAT when you're better. I don't know the exact recipe to make it drinkable because I usually just take a shot of it after breakfast, lunch, dinner like a fucking manly lumberjack. But if you might not be used to the taste so mix it with some warm water and honey and you should be able to down it.

check out earthclinic.com for more shit/recipes.

When I'm sick, I like to sweat it out by doing some physical activity. GOOD LUCK BRO.

Very true, god I'd be a such a crab all weekend if that happened. Anyway, thanks for the advice guys, I bought one of those fatty packs of Emergen-C, so this cold doesn't stand a fucking chance. Regardless, I will be there, and I will rock hard.

Its over the counter, too. No pesky docs, just suspicious glances by the Walmart cashier.

locachica73

Overdosing on Nyquil for 24 hours and covering up in bed usually does a good job as well. Just be careful of the slight hallucinations you get. Sometimes they are fun, sometimes not so much.

Some else said it above, but get shitloads of sleep. Take Friday off work (tomorrow) and rest all day.

And don't just sleep in late- get your ass in bed at 10 pm. try to get a solid 8 hours at night without waking in between.

and if something is stressing you, deal with it. stress will make your cold stay longer.

ZYRTEC is fucking great and one pill lasts 24 hours. It also doesn't make me feel all drugged out like claritin does

Olive Leaf Extract capsules and chicken soup. You can take it from me-it works and I have treated a lot of colds in my 34 years as a mom. A Chinese medicine student who tutored my daughter in Calculus told us about the Olive Leaf extract and it really does work. You can get it at the drugstore and some grocery stores.

I'd like to take that advice in full, but smoking weed only tends to make a cold last longer from what I hear. And it makes any cough I may have linger for months.

none of the medications mentioned will prevent a sinus infection. to do that you need to actually flush out your sinuses each night to get all that dirt and crap out. i use one of these, check it out: http://www.neilmed.com/usa/products.php#sinusrinse

netty pots are also really popular, and do the same thing, but a little different method. instead of squeezing it up in there like the one above, you use a tea kettle type thing to poor in one nostril, tilt your head, and let gravity drain it out your other nostril.

both take some getting used to, since its weird feeling water go up your nose at first, but you get used to it. and if you are prone to sinus infections, i highly suggest using one of these on a regular basis. i used to get them all the time, and now i havent gotten one since i started using these.
