The high temperature on April 12th is estimated to be 86 and slightly cloudy. That's as far out as the forecast goes.
If the high temperatures are less than 90 all three days, I will be giving out hot dickings!

I thought it would be a good idea to do a practice run with our canopy yesterday afternoon...I was wrong! I would have been better off flying a friggin' kite! If it's like this during the fest, our tent may end up in Blythe, but my eyes won't be bloodshot from sand, that's for sure! :rolleyes

It's been really windy up and down the west coast this week, I'm glad we're all getting that bullshit out of the way soon.
I truly believe this festival will be blessed with 90 degree weather all weekend. I remember last year how the early 14-day forecasts before Coachella predicted much cooler weather than what ultimately became a reality.
I'm hoping for another repeat.

I also would rather be really hot during the day than cold at night. At least when it is roasting during the day you can look for relief when the sun goes down. Then again it could have been his gardener using one of those garden blowers over in the Palm Springs area, and blowing that shit over here to Indio! what is the difference between brilliant, abundant and just regular sunshine?
I think "brilliant, abundant sunshine" is when you open the door and are immediately blinded, and after putting on your darkest shades and putting on a large, floppy hat you keep checking if you have on your sunglasses cause it's still too bright to see! Kind of like how an ant feels under a magnifying glass on a hot summer day. SPF 10+.
Anyway, seems like we'll have proof of the Coachella effect when the 3rd weekend of April is in the upper 90s for the first time in x years.

30 percent chance of rain in Palm Springs today
Desert Sun Wire • April 10, 2009
Pull out that rain slicker.
Palm Springs has a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service in San Diego.
Today’s high is expected to top out at 69 degrees with a low of 50 degrees.
Since July 1, the Coachella Valley has received 5.07 inches of rain. The average rainfall is 5.12. The Coachella Valley has been in drought-like conditions since about 2004.
This weather pattern should be gone by Saturday afternoon, said Stan Wasowski, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in San Diego.
The bulk of the valley’s rain this season fell in December when the Palm Springs area received about 2.5 inches breaking a 1940 record that coupled with freezing temperatures shuttered the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway and caused about 200 students at Oasis Elementary School to be evacuated because of flooding.
In July, an early morning downpour dumped about an inch of rain in less than 30 minutes, spawning mudslides and flooding — the worst Cathedral City had seen in 20 years — and left more than 4,000 Southern California Edison customers without power.

Besides the inaugural year when the fest was in Oct., the other fests have been the first weekend of May or the last weekend of April. So yeah, the dates are two weeks earlier than previous years.
