what's everyones opinion on Summerfest here? (takes place in Milwaukee, 2 weeks long, and is the world's biggest music festival)
there's 8 stages. tons of people every year and also the marcus amp
tickets are cheap for the festival ($15 a day, not including the marcus amp shows) which are different than the actual festival.
i went in 2006 and saw Tom Petty with Pearl Jam-best concert I ever saw, but in the music world, is it known as a redneck type festival or what?

It's hard to call this a true fest when you have to pay a seperate regular concert ticket price to see healiners. I do like the fest. I went back in 98 I think.

I have been a lot since I lived in milwaukee for 20 years. Its a lot of fun but it doesnt cater to the music fan like me but to the general public. Its a great place to take kids and spend the day.

My fav shows there were
Tom Petty with Pearl Jam
Violent Femmes with Citizen King (a few times since they are from Milwaukee)
Steve Miller Band
Felix the Housecat
