Who are they playing? Is it at home? I wonder if Dani's there. What's the score?

edit - dude Nikki, I saw a glimpse of that last week and they had fucking Eddie Murphy on. They were showing clips from like Nutty Professor II and he was talking all serious about it.

I am not watching it but I can tell you that Lifetime is showing some movie about either
A. A psychotic abusive ex boyfriend who tracks down the girl who ran away from him.

or

B. Some shit about a girl who is widowed and meets a handome cowboy and or fireman.

oh yeah and there's a lot of douche commercials.

Hannahrain
02-13-2007, 08:30 PM
chances are good that on lifetime there is a heartwarming made for tv movie starring a b-list tv actress in a role where she is unhappy with her job and her love life. she has a bet friend who is hilarious, but also pretty slutty. (if this is a horror movie, she gets killed first.) she has an awkward relationship with her parents. she meets a man, and then there is some kind of misunderstanding that causes him to choose another woman (temporarily). in the very last scene, she somehow embarrasses herself while also correcting his mistake.

roll credits.

:rotfl

That's amazing.

Monday's ep of Studio 60 was the worst I've seen. I like the show but that ep kinda killed a lot of the things left unsaid. Sorkin has done well in the past with some of his go back in time show it where things started eps like when Martin Sheen and Bradley Whitford got shot on the West Wing but that was several seasons in when the characters had had time to grow so it mattered what they did years earlier. Plus if I remember that/those eps correctly they didn't bounce back and forth and do nothing/act stupid in the present and try and make it come off all ponderous.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force is ridiculously funny but there's not a whole lot beyond that. And I watch the theme song each time even though it's on the DVR.

You know how I know I'm gay? I'm going to start singing the praises of "Beauty and the Geek".

I'm sorry, but last night's effective throwing of the match by Nate - the cool nerd who was paired with the diabolical, aggressively shallow and manipulative Cecille - was an act of heroism, and the unqualified best moment in reality TV history.

For those who don't watch - Nate is a Star Wars nerd from Harvard who is actually pretty good looking after he shaved his beard, and his teammate is a bikini bitch named Cecille who talked shit about all the geeks in the house and made enemies of every girl except Megan. Megan, along with her geek Scooter, made up the other team that was facing off against Nate and Ceci in the finale. Ceci and Nate have dominated everyone this year because Nate's much cooler than originally assumed (he and one of the other "beauties" in the house fell in love with each other over the course of the season), and Ceci, while being completely bankrupt from a spiritual perspective, is still savvy and bright enough to learn the facts needed to stave off elimination. She's picked off every other team in the house except Megan, who she liked better than the other girls; now, in this final episode leading up to the last showdown, she's suddenly turned on Megan.

The show's final twist was to bring back all the contestants who have been eliminated this season to serve as the judges of which team's members have changed/grown the most. Ceci's heart sinks as this is revealed, because now she realizes she has to try to curry favor with these people that she's spent an entire season alienating. The problem for all the judges is that they LOVE Nate. Jennylee - the girl Nate fell for while she was still in the house - is going around saying that a vote for Nate and Ceci is a vote for Nate, and that's good enough for her. But it's impossible to ignore the implications of that. Every aside with Ceci, she brags about how she hasn't changed a bit since she got in the house, and how she doesn't need to change - which makes everyone loathe her because the point of the show is to make these kids see outside of their archetypes. She says something appallingly pathetic every time the camera is on her.

Nate knows this, and as this "judging" process is going on, he comes to a revelation - his team winning is the worst thing that can happen for the show and what it stands for. He tells himself that, between the growth he's made and the fact that he's proven his worth to himself - not to mention hooking up with a girl previously thought to be out of his league - he doesn't need the $250,000 for the contest. So what does he do? He takes a dive. He tells everyone in the house that voting for him and Ceci is wrong because it will send her the wrong message. He tells them to vote for the other team - who everyone likes enough anyways - and that they will still be friends because it's the right thing to do. So when the vote comes, Megan and Scooter end up walloping them; the only ones that vote for Nate and Ceci are the girl that Nate's with, and the guy that Ceci manipulated into thinking she was nice.

It was fucking impressive. This kid seriously proved himself to have balls of steel and integrity of granite - leaving $250,000 on the table because he knew it would be wrong for him to get it. It will be hard to watch this show again because that's a gesture that almost can't be topped.
