I think this deserves its own thread. I for one, cannot WAIT for the new one. it's going to be incredibly awesome & epic. I'm watching all the original series now on the remastered dvds, which are amazing themselves. It's very chill now with everything remastered

Incriminating, but I have it.

The Next Generation is a fucking brilliant series from start to finish. Star Trek peaked during those years, it's the only Trek I've ever watched and the only Trek I ever will watch.

But...

the new movie looks pretty tight

What in the wide, wide world of sports is that from?

I like TNG and some Voyager, never got into the original. Miss Cherita, some of the Voyager episodes are quite the mind trip, moreso than TNG I think.

I will say one thing that bugs me about Trek II (K)

Is that when the young engine room boy dies he smears his bloody hand on Kirk's uniform. That bloody handprint jumps positions and shapes like 10 times over the next half hour of the film.

Details people!

I think Star Trek is pretty lame in general, but the new movie looks like it could be cool

See? Everything looks perfect but for some reason the new Kirk just really bugs me. I can't figure out why

I admit to being a fan of the original series. Not so much that I throw Vulcan gang signs or shave my sideburns to a point, but it does retain more than suck appeal to me.

I wasn't into any of the various series that followed, though. I automatically loathe any show giving Whoopi Goldberg gainful employment.

You don't love Whoopi? Why? She's so awesome and her character Guinan was the shiznit

Too funny.

I could not agree more with this, surprisingly.

I think the new Star Trek film looks awful but the early buzz from screenings in London, Texas and some other places are all positive.

I'll have to wait and decide for myself.

I'm not ready to drink the Kool-Aid just yet.
