Crying at shows is the fucking stupidest thing ever. I cant believe people admited to ending up bawling in the fetal position during/after Portishead. I dont give a fuck what you are on, get a grip.

bawling in the fetal position or like sobbing and sniveling is weird.

I have, at several concerts, teared up a bit.

two examples:

one- queens of the stone age, 2001. I was a huge fan, and actually totally osber at the time.
the live version of 'the fade' hit just the right balance of making me groove and making me think, and to to put it in themost technical manner, my eyes got a little wet.

during portishead, I was standing there with my girlfriend in my arms in front of me at the second railing (I can see clear over her head- it works out perfectly at concerts- at concerts that aren't coachella, I wear big steel toes and she stands on my feet the whole time- gives her an extra 3 inches or so.)
anyways, yeah- 'roads' is a song that I always loved, and it was also the first (and initially only) portishead song she knew, from another mutual interest- tank girl. and it was performed really well, and it's a beautiful song, and we were there together, 2000 miles from home, at freaking coachella, and I teared up. anyone who tries to suppress emotion in a perfect moment like that has some serious issues.

There's no way I'm not gunna cry during the cure. I don't see how it's possible. Same goes for the killers

frozen pilgrim

salah, please please remove the killers from your "so awesome I might cry" list, at least for public purposes...
we all have our dirty little secrets, man. and you know I love you. but... D:
some body told me, that something and something that naa na na na na, that looked like a chicken dressed up in drag gear...
I dunno. I'm sorry. I just can't like them. I can't and won't. but I won't ask you to like venetian snares.

i'm going to cry during the killers for what could've been...

I had a hypothetical crying situation that I came up with in my head last year...

During Death Cab's set I predicted Jenny Lewis to come off stage with Rilo Kiley and join Ben Gibbard and have them do Nothing Better. That would def. do me in.

And I think it might be during "Read My Mind" (killers song) that the waterworks starts.

and I know I teared up during Portishead...I was begging the universe to let them play on forever...it was so beautiful
This year, I don't see anything that'll bring me to tears... :-/

My eyes get watery at concerts.
Depeche Mode at coachella
The cure at the Hollywood bowl during lullaby
Portishead during sour times.

I think thats it.

Nothing wrong with it.
I agree with frozen that if you suppress it there's something wrong.

for me it's always in combination with one or more other factors:

a perfect circle at universal amphitheater - slightly drunk, intensely stoned
the cure at arco arena - bad comedown, recently-ex girlfriend present with new guy
sigur ros at coachella - no excuse necessary. (beautiful sunset?)
sigur ros at greek theater berkeley - drunk
nine inch nails at arco arena - stupid-drunk

totally forgot arcade fire at the troubadour. i had never heard a single song of theirs, and being bored one night i agreed to accompany a friend of a friend to check them out since i loved the troubadour. i bought a scalped ticket for 75$ on a hunch that they would be worth it. wow was i right. the energy was so mind blowing, and came to a peak during 'wake up' -- mine were definitely not the only misty, smiling eyes.

honestly, he wasn't that awful. he was fine. if it'd been friday night at a normal sized club or bar and I'd been drinking and partying with friends, and that was all, he would have been fine. I would have been not bothered, or even amused. but we were all waiting for aphex fucking twin. it'd be like waiting for yo yo ma and having to sit through a grade 12 advanced strings class... it's not that they SUCK, it's just an inappropriate pairing.
