I will be taking requests via this thread till 11:15 tomorrow. That way, I can actually receive them and play them.

Valarie: I will play Clipse.

Adam/someone else: could someone record this digitally again? That would be neat.

Well there's different ways to approach the appreciation of all genres of music and in order to truly enjoy the experience you sometimes have to place yourself outside the entire thing, not as someone with any power or presence within it. For example, when I listen to Gillian Welch or Nina Simone or something, I'm able to LOVE their songs about Jesus and things because I'm listening to them as an outside witness, aware of their message but not affected by it. The same thing goes for lyrics in rap music, it's a language outside of my reality for the time when I'm getting down on it.

I would've gone with Killing All the Flies if anything off that album...nonetheless...Hunted By a Freak is still a great song

Nicely stated. I know what you mean...I'm that way with any hip-hop (geographical location makes this self-evident), but I still have to feel a connection with the performer or at least believe the artist is able to look outside their own world when making their music. If that makes any sense.

Awesome setlist! Hopefully someone was able to record the show. I was still digging out either my car or one of my neighbor's cars when it was airing. Thank you for throwing in my Hold Steady request, and I'm seriously thinking I need to check Amy Winehouse out at Coachella.

Edit: Also, great choice on the Nina Simone track. There are so many of her songs that I like, but if I ever make mixes that include Nina Simone, that is almost always the track I include.
