Seriously. QFT, every word. Plus we all know MJ's got a thing for the Beatles, so if there was a year he'd play, it'd be this year. But refer to the last line in the quote above for my opinion on the matter.

Jackson expected to announce deal

Michael Jackson is scheduled to make a "special announcement" Thursday in London, revealing plans to perform 10 concerts for a reported $10 million.

Michael Jackson is turning to London to launch his comeback, according to reports.

He arrived in London on Tuesday and was scheduled to make a "special announcement" Thursday at the 02 Arena, the venue where he will reportedly perform 10 concerts for a reported $10 million.

Jackson, 50, has been living in Las Vegas for the better part of the past two years, fielding various offers while trying to rebuild his confidence to perform live, I'm told.

It appears AEG Live, the Los Angeles-based entertainment venue giant that books megastars at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, has locked up the former King of Pop. Jackson remains hugely popular in Europe.

The deal, first reported in December 2007 by Fox News entertainment columnist Roger Friedman, would allow AEG Live to present Jackson for a total of 20 to 30 shows for up to $30 million if "the shows are well-received and -attended, and Jackson can make the commitment," Friedman reported this week.

AEG Live operates The O2 and booked Prince there for 21 days in 2007. With AEG's Vegas connection, it is probably safe to say that Las Vegas could be in the plans.

Its def possible to play one show (COACHELLA) a few months early, especially since he's not touring the US.

Whether you all want to face it or not....MJ would go down as the biggest performance in COACHELLA history, I really don't see anything topping it. It would sell out in seconds.

hopefully you aren't making a trip solely on this!

this is definitely one of those shows that could be pulled at the last minute.

He added 16 more shows!
I'm sure some of those will get postponed or cancelled or something, knowing him.

Yes, very short odds! If the first couple of shows don't go well then I expect a barrage of cancellations. Even if they go well, the odds on MJ making it thru all those is debatable.

I also suspect there is going to be a lot of visual trickery and lip-synching to compensate for the physical and mental fragilities.

it's only 1 hour by plane from Amsterdam (near my town), and if he cancels I will still have a nice weekend in London.

I don't doubt lip synching, unfortunately. Maybe a few songs he'll sing live though.
I guess asking him to perform the way he did in the 80s would be too much

I'm thinking they will use old footage and try to dazzle and distract from Jackson's real performance. I'm not sure Jackson moves so well anymore. It will be a very stage-managed production. It will be spectacular, I just wonder how much 'live' Michael Jackson will perform.

some news-sites in europe say there will be 30 MJ-concerts in London...

Now they confirmed even 50 (!) concerts in London...
