As did I. That is what happens when you get the Rage reunion and 3 days instead of 2.

No, this is what happens when GV's resident economists and market strategists are geniuses and had no possible way to predict that their brilliant sales plan would lead to 80% of the audience buying scalped tickets.

That was the most articulate post I've ever read on this board. Hear hear.

They should do like Glastonbury and have people submit photos of themselves so that their photo has to match what they look like when they pick up the tix.

Was all you had to contribute? I am an extremely wealthy man. Judging by your dedication to the art of interpersonal communication I'd venture to guess you will never in your life possess a quarter of the monetary resources I do. So when I point out flawed business practices, I'm doing it for your type of people. Little people with little faces drawn onto prisms. You look like an outsider artist conducting an optometry experiment inside an empty jar of oil. Grousing about under the deck.

more artists to the bill? more tickets!

could the organizers really not have anticipated this? well. I didn't.

I LOVE that concept they are running with - its awesome and its a big f u to the scalpers, which is always nice.

that's gotta take fuckin FOREVER. unless..they come up w/ some fancy machine where when you scan the ticket your picture shows up and if it doesn't match you're fucked...did they already invent that? i suck =P

at blues n roots in oz you had to submit your name and birth date when buying tickets and then matching photo id when picking tickets up, its quick and less f ing around than glastonbury and still a big f you to the scalpers.

how many tickets went on sale?? how many people come to coachella??

your first point was vaild, but no need to turn it into a dick measuring comp. as the great J Cash said:

"One rich man in ten with a satisfied mind ....

Once I was winning in fortune and fame
Everything that I dreamed for to get a start in life's game
Suddenly it happened, I lost every dime
But I'm richer by far with a satisfied mind"

when I point out flawed business practices

How have they got a flawed business practice? They sold out their concert, that was their aim and they did it in record time.

The Glastonbury system last time was an absolute nightmare - the whole thing sold out in a couple of minutes, servers crashed, people who had gone every time for years missed out on tickets - everyone bitched a lot.

Hopefully this years pre-registering system will be better.

This year's system looks really good, you submit a photo in feb if you want a ticket then only people who did that get to buy tickets in april when they go on sale. I think your picture is on the ticket.

Sally Cinnamon

its a great idea
but with no glastonbury last year, how many thousands if not hundreds of thousands of people are gonna register and still be disappointed cos they servers wont be able to cope on April 1st when tickets go on sale

I can't stand people who are making fun of other people for not buying their tickets earlier. It really does suck. We didn't even plan on going to Coachella until the lineup was announced. We had to get together, decide our trip and buy our tickets. We ordered ours about 2 weeks ago luckily. But still, I feel for the people who couldn't decide right away if they could spend $300 for tickets. It's not cheap. You have to calculate everything else in it too.

i started thinking about coachella around the 2nd week of jan and me anmy girl sat down and decided to make it our spring vacation. got the room reserved, financed it and got 2 sets of tix. done. now gonna pay off the c.cards by april and its on... we were going regardless, but onc ethe lineup was announced the people who didnt get tix underestimated the rage factor... well either way good luck to the ones who have to now do alot of ebay homework to get tix!!

my girl emailed me the line up one morning and we had tix by the arvo, we figured with this lineup if everything else fell through (leave, air tix she from oz me from uk) the outlay to avoid missing out would be worth it. some times you just gotta take chances
