Do the Lights/Lasers in the Sahara just get better every year?

the RGB lasers were really impressive this year. heh it was obvious that the igh power white-capable RGB mixing units were FINALLY affordable only just this year- waters used two to make his prism (the white sides of the prism were beams of white laser light), the other was the white light/rainbow. and there were 3 in the sahara.
even with the new lower prices, we're talking about more than half a million dollars in just laser units.

totally, totally, TOTALLY agree. the best part was when they made it look like white birds were flying EVERYWHERE. my best memories of the tent in general are also from 2005. but that may have also been due to acts like the chemical bros., prodigy, marky, ect. but yes, i also like visuals being projected onto the actual tent.

Pukkelpop had two huge rave tents - the Dance Hall and THE BOILER - the Boiler has wooden fucking floors so that when people get down the whole bitch shakes. Then, in between the two rave tents, there is an open air outdoor rave area with like platforms and crazy colored lights.

Inside the rave tents there are these giant floating orbs (aka "balloons") and they look really cool with all the lights and shit.

I don't know if there's like, a specific laser light technology going on in there but whatever it is, if it keeps up, we're all gonna be speaking Belgian soon.

Yeah I noticed last year they didn't have the crazy projections on the outside of all the tents, like they had in the past years. Walking outside the tents was just as visually exciting as being in the tents. That was great stuff. Thats another awesome art thing they had missing in 08. I hope they have shit like that this year.

Everyone trust me when I say yes. I study the lighting every year in the Sahara. I do stage lighting as a side gig, so I REALLY pay attention to that shit. As far as a i know this was the first year Coachella had multiple FULL COLOR Lasers (not even 7 color). The lighting is done by Visual Symphony I believe.

Agreed with 09 being way worse in the sahara than 08.

In 08, they had those super fast strobe lights but I don't remember them having lasers.

'09 they added the lasers, but for the speakers they had stacks in the front and two on the side.

In '08, they had arrays hanging all along the ceiling, along the side, and in the back, that shit would hit you in the gut, loudest clearest music I've ever heard. '09 was a step down sound wise :( imo
