OK I saw his DJ set at EDC last year and he fucking killed it! I'm calling it now; I think he could be the big sahara addition on saturday. What do you guys think?

Eh, I wouldn't mind if he were added. Haven't seen him live.

I will admit, he blew me away at EDC, hands down the best DJ on the mainstage that night... but considering his competition (PVD, Benny Benassi, Christopher Lawrence) that isn't really saying much.

I would go as far as to say Moby melted my face that night. I would be pleased with him being added on Saturday. Not ecstatic, not happy, but quite pleased.

Agreed. Saw him DJ twice last year and he was fierce. Banging, banging techno and house tracks.

Just be prepared for him jumping up on the tables and striking the jesus christ pose - a lot.

I saw him DJ twice in one day last summer. It was at BFD, he came on after MSTRKRFT and I was very surprised/pleased by his mixing and track selection. After the show we headed over to the Mezzanine for the after-party and saw MSTRKRFT and Moby rawk out all over again.

I have also seen Moby live. It was in '00 for the Play tour and it was awesome. Hybrid opened with a live set, which made a great start to the evening. He did get a bit political in between songs, but that is to be expected with Moby...that and his posing.

These are from BFD:

Moby is great. I watch his live videos on Youtube all the time, but have never gotten the chance to actually see him.

I've been saying for a few years now that he is due to play Coachella. I never have seen the DJ set only with the live band.

Clearly no one is opposed to this.... Bring him LIVE please. DJ set would be great also though

i would LOVE for this to happen. i've never seen him live, except for on tv. to be honest, i think i'd rather have him do a dj set. either way is cool with me though

DJ set is better. He threw it down at EDC!

Moby would be an incredible add...I saw him live in 2000 at the KROQ Almost Acoustic X-mas (with No Doubt...go figure). I also saw him at EDC doing his DJ set....both are really freaking cool. Can't decide on which set I liked better, but Moby would be a great add on any night!

DJ set is better.

This statement is true ~0.01% of the time.

He was absolutely the best I heard at the EDC main stage. Mostly it was because he played a little bit of oldschool, and he dropped "Thousand".

I had no idea Moby was this good and respected live/dj sets. I fucking love him, his ambient and techno/dance tracks. I would be ecstatic if he played this year.

I dunno....I thought he was only okay. Now Rabbit In The Moon, on the other hand, left me looking for the brains that had leaked out of my ear and on to the ground.

Moby would be perfect for the 10 year anniversary. He was one of the first.

i was at the same set in 2007 and did not feel as though he killed anything. would not see again. and rabbit in the moon has been doing the same show for years. if you can get them to do something new for once, it would be awesome to see them at coachella. i don't want to see the same show they've been dragging around for years at coachella though, coachella deserves better.

Yeah I've heard that about RITM, but had never seen them until EDC last year. If that's all they do, I'd have to agree.

I saw him live at Area2 a few years ago, where he actually had the gall to bill himself above Bowie, and he was actually very good (but was no Bowie). The set was a lot of fun, the material off Play was very solid, and the little bit of 'punk' rock that he did was fun.

Does anyone remember his punk album, Animal Rights, that had a cover of "That's When I Reach For My Revolver" on it?

I havent seen moby since some rave at the orange show in the mid 90`s, i think it was called big whig thumper? He would be so very bad ass to see again. He busted out with that one jam, "1,000" and the crowd went nuts.

Saw him wayyyy back on the Everything is Wrong tour and he absolutely destroyed the place. Crazy manic energy. This was at the Metro in chicago, and the power actually blew out halfway through his set. So he ran backstage, grabbed an accoustic guitar, and took requests for 10-15 minutes unitll they got the power back up and running again.

Saw him later on on the Area:One tour and it was still pretty good, but a bit overblown, and it was pretty clear the backup singers and whatnot were just lip-synching. Still, high energy fun show, would be happy to check him out for a 3rd time at Coachella.

He should have been added. I have a source at Golden Voice (who I haven't spoken to lately) who told me last year that 2009 should be the year Moby headlines at the Sahara. Maybe a late add?... I really don't think there are going to be any late additions. GV is just trying not to lose too much money this year so that Coachella 2010 can happen.

I saw him do a live set in 2009 and was bored. Maybe it was because I came ready to dance and was a little let down by the adult contemporary flavor that he was putting out.

The editing on that video is really annoying, but damn that looks like a hell of a show. I haven't even thought about Moby since I was in college, but I would surely watch the everloving fuck out of that.
