Okay, so unfortunately no Coachella appearance from Mr. Corner or a Sneaker Pimps reunion (maybe 2010 or 2011?!?!?!) but here's a list of US dates in June

06/02 T.T THE BEAR'S / Boston, USA
06/04 BOWERY BALLROOM / New York City, USA
06/06 SUBTERRANEAN / Chicago, USA
06/09 SLIM'S / San Francisco
06/12 EL REY THEATRE / Los Angeles, USA

Do yourself a favor and catch one of these shows! You won't be disappointed.

K+S (album 1) = Kiss and Swallow, Your Joy Is My Low, Sailor, Mercy

The Alternative = The Alternative, Bring Me Back a Dog, Spit It Out, Nightlife, Negative Sex, Songs of Imaginary Beings (check out the video for this one, i lurv it!)

There's also a new single playing on the myspace called "Think of England" that I think is pretty cool.

What's the name of your GFs band?

if you check out the Sneaker Pimps album "Bloodsport" (recommended tracks, Sick, Blue Movie, Bloodsport) you'll get a flavor for where Chris Corner was going before he went solo with IAMX.

There are also Imogen Heap and Gary Numan remixes available for "Spit It Out" that were recently released on a remix EP.

I caught IAMX last fall at T.T. the Bears. I was hoping I wouldn't have to travel that far to see them again. sadface.

how far did you travel for that show? Everyone in line that I talked to had driven some crazy ass distances (Maine, Ohio, Vermont). I was first in line, the dude with the IAMX tattoo on my arm, I met like 20 people that night, were you one of them?

Me and Mak went together, and we flew from Houston, Texas just to see the show. That was the 2nd IAMX show I've seen and it was well worth the trip. I'm kinda let down that it seems like he's playing almost the exact same cities as his last tour. If you have any chance at all, go to this show. You will not be disappointed!

As for what to listen to.....Kiss and Swallow and The Alternative are the only 2 albums and they are both fucking excellent. As mentioned earlier, Sneaker Pimp's final album Bloodsport is a good way to get into the IAMX sound. Bloodsport is one of my top 3 favorite albums of any artist. It's a classic.

Jorge, since you were at the show....what was the name of the band that opened? I know they were from Iran and they were really good, but I can't remember their name.

The opening band was Hypernova. Looks like they are opening the Bowery Ballroom show.

Hypernova have been announced as the opening band at the San Francisco show, so I can only assume they're doing Los Angeles also.

God damnit I wish GV would take the plunge and add IAMX to the lineup. I've been calling for this for 2 years. What an amazing show that would be on the polo fields. Make it happen Paul!!!

well since the new album is not released until May, maybe he can be added to Detour and Coachella 2010. That would be awesome.

Would Sneaker Pimps be considered a reunion? Are they on hiatus?

They've been "recording" an album forever. There is a lot of congruency between the Sneaker Pimp and IAMX so it's hard to say. The only way I would consider the Sneaker Pimps a reunion is if they got their original lead singer (Kelli Dayton) back. She hasn't been with the band since they released their first album. She's the one that sings on "6 Underground".

ok thank you

I would also consider a Sneaker Pimps reunion to be one where Joe, Liam, Chris, and Dave play. I'd welcome either one.

If you can get your hands on the unreleased "SP4", about half of those demos ended up on the 2 IAMX albums. The entire thing is completely brilliant though.

Ma Fille Concrete, Lolita, the original version of Songs of Imaginary Beings and original Kiss and Swallow are my faves.

how is Slim's? Never been there before, but I caught IAMX at Cafe Du Nord, Bottom of the Hill and GAMH and haven't been disappointed in an SF venue yet.

slim's is awesome. tiny place. I haven't been to many shows there in the last few years, this will be a good excuse.

thought i'd bump this thread...recently announced that album #4 will be released in March 2011. Gotta have him at Coachella! Last news update...

"August 03 2010
Thank you to all organic drummers that we had the privilege to work with in the past. Your time is over.
We hereby introduce MAX, the drum machine.
Sleeplessly programmed and tortured by Chris Corner himself.
You will find a picture of him on this site and get the chance to hear him perform at our upcoming festival shows. He's not a number.

Much love, IAMX "

hopefully no drummer means the new album (and live shows) are closer to the K+S sound.

no drummer does not sound like an improvement to me.

it just takes me back to when he didn't have a full band and he was running around on stage like a crazy man doing everything himself. will be interesting to say the least, i'll reserve judgement til i follow him around the country next tour.

bumping this old thread again to let folks know that Chris is living in LA, at least for the winter. Said he didn't want another cold winter in Berlin, wonder how he's handling this heat wave.

Not sure if he's taking a break, maybe starting work on album number 5, or what. Since he never toured Volatile Times in the states, this would be a great chance for Goldenvoice (or anyone...an Echo, Satellite, or Bootleg show would be insane) to book some shows, maybe Coachella?? Fingers crossed...
