Crippled Black Phoenix has tour dates in April, so there goes that. Unless for some magic reason they tour without Dominic than it can still happen. For now, nope.....

Sad. Mogwai saved the Madonna fiasco for me in '06. Amazing band.

mogwai is great.
they're also totally overrated and I'm sick of hearing about them especially as everyone in north america's had at least a couple chances this past year to see them

I was surprised not to see them on the initial poster in support of The Hawk Is Howling. Bummer.

I'm surprised that people are so balls-deep on mogwai. I like them, but get up off your knees and take your hands off your face for a minute. I really don't think this was worthy of a thread.

So much for Mogwai being available for booking (US Dates/Festivals) in the spring. Same thing happened last year with ground control listing them as available in the spring but them not touring until later.

boarderwoozel3

Would I like to see them live one of these days? Yes. Balls-deep, negative.

I was a little sad to see them missing from the lineup.
But honestly... I don't think anything could be better than my experience with them in 06.
Holy. Fucking. Shit.

I enjoyed Mogwai more than Tool that year. And I LOOOVE Tool and didn't even KNOW Mogwai.

"It's currently unclear whether Dominic will be playing bass on part or all of this tour, as Mogwai's touring commitments may prevent this. Further details when we have them."

Correct! You just don't have much variation at all, which is why they bore me nowadays. They used to be one of my favorites when I was getting into the genre.

EITS in '07 were good, but the main stage in the daytime just wasn't the right setting. An evening set-time (like Mogwai's in '06) would have suited them much better.
At least this year there's some good alternative noise options like 'place to bury strangers', mbv, and throbbing gristle.

After seeing Mogwai in 06, I figured EITS would have a similar set time in 07.
I ended up not going to Sunday in 07... so, who cares?

But goddammit I want to see them live again.

I totally agree with you! I love Mogwai and MBV. If I can see them both, that's heaven!

I saw Mogwai twice in Taiwan. (They are so kind to come to our small island even though there is no big budget.) Mogwai really rocks, everyone is blown away in their performance.

I was in US in 2008. I am seriously considering flying from Taiwan to Coachella this year!

I pray Mogwai rumours would come true. They should add Coachella in their tour. Right now, you have to pay $90 to see Mogwai in Taiwan. The concet ticket is so expensive in Asia.
