View Full Version : When does GV usually modify the line-up?

Past years GV has modified the line-up, adding, eliminating, even bringing in headliners like Prince a while after releasing the original line-up.

Does anyone know when this usually happens? And do they usually make changes more than once?

usually there are a couple of additions. Dont expect any headliners that was a fluke thing with Prince and I really wouldn't expect anything that big except maybe in the dance tent. You might see some quality rare acts added like goldfrapp and aphex twin last year.

Just because everyone's anticipating a bigger headliner to fill a spot, don't expect to much more to be added.

Well, like her or not Madonna was a pretty big add in 2006. There have been others. Psychic Friend was pretty candid saying there would be more to come in the Sahara. Some speculation about Trent Reznor/NIN or Jane's Addiction being added (Perry is already on the lineup, of course) but who knows. There's usually some minor tweaks too. But hey, if you're undecided about attending with the current line-up ...

Oh I'm going. Got festival tix, plane tix, everything.

I'm just anticipating some changes -not necessarily major- and wanted to know what everyone thought. There's a lot of rumors and they always make some line-up changes at some point.

More than WHO's added/eliminated, I wonder how much longer 'till they make them, and if they would make changes more than once... And if anyone had found any patterns (i.e. always a month before the festival, two months, etc.)

Not too fond of Sahara though :/

Kanye was added in 2006 too and he wasn't added until set times were released. Massive Attack was also a late addition but they were added within like a week or two of the announcement. 2007 added some djs in the Sahara like Aoki bleh.

There have been some small changes (artists moving from one day to another), but nothing major yet. If they land someone big, I wouldn't expect them to withhold the announcement, unless it's part of a larger tour announcement.

they usually switch the headliners a week before the fest.
